PTI to support Samiul Haq in Senate elections

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to support Jamiat Ulema Islam-Sami (JUI-S) chief Maulana Samiul Haq in the upcoming Senate elections.

Maulana Samiul Haq will contest the election, to be held on March 3, from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The JUI-S will in return support the PTI in the upcoming general elections.

On Friday, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had issued the schedule for the Senate elections.

According to the ECP, polling to elect senators will be held on March 3 whereas nomination papers can be submitted from February 4-6 and their scrutiny will be completed by February 9, while the final list of the contestants will be issued on February 15.
