PTI Lockdown cancelled, changed to 'Thanksgivng Day'

SC was already on that case ................. I think PTI had its petition filed with SC on that. Even before the call for dharna

This PTI will make sure PMLN comes back again in 2018.
Your response is here 2:29 onwards

I am sorry but the court has not given any relief yet. ToRs for commision are yet to be decided and the government still is a player in that. SC fixed the matter for today on 20th of October, this kind of talashi was already expected.

If parties fail to agree on TORs , SC will do it and they have already said no further time for TORs to be given.

@Verve @Farah Sohail

My analysis today :)

SC has been informed "informally" that they should consider themselves safe from any misadventure by any party. Security of judges will be ensured at all costs. No pressure from any side, whether from IK in the form of large gathering in Islamabad, or from NS in the form of threats from armed attackers on the judges or their family members, should hinder the bench in providing justice. The security will continue even after the retirement of judges hearing this case.

The concerned parties have also been informed that attack on SC or any of its judges (families included) will be considered attack on democracy that the most respected institution (not SC) has vowed to protect this time and it will not be tolerated. One of the party is trying hard for in camera hearing of the case, till now no success. Information gathered suggests that one party is going to take an extremely foolish step.

The helicopters that were doing surveillance when Parvaiz Khattak was trying to remove barricades and containers to reach Punjab/ Bani Gala, were in fact telling both parties (specially the police force) that they are looking from above, do whatever you want but do not repeat Model town. The message was so loud and clear that the IG Punjab had to instruct police to leave their guns behind.

We are moving in the right direction. Now if SC, after all the assurances, doesn't provide justice to any party, what can anyone do? SC judges will become a laughing stock as the proceedings are not in camera.

I expect that sanity will prevail and SC will provide justice to all concerned parties this time.

Dude the case is pending for more than 2 weeks now, what court has ordered today was expected from day 1. Why so much of choas then?
A full bench commission with investigative powers and day to day hearing is whats achieved..Its different from a regular SC case.

@PakSword hmmm... Interesting
But some ppl are debating tht whether SC will have technical of forensic expertise available to them, to investigate panama scandal?.... Because unless and until international audit firm comes into it...investigation into panama leaks, even by an empowerd juidicial commission wil be useless.... So, I am afraid, tht for lack of evidence., what if again Nawaz Sharif is acquitted?

Also, what is the status of Shaikh Rasheed's petition? Was it heard yesterday? Any comments by judges on tht petition? Will it be heard separately...or Shaikh Rasheed's petition will also be merged and come under the judicial ocmmission?

I soo hope, tht what u have said is proven right..and SC, for a change, (after all security assurances given) atleast this time, gives a solid and independent decision...although history tells something else... But still hoping against hope, tht this time SC does something good...although still not very hopeful :(

Edit: those helicopters..were military helicopters? Initially achannels were reporting them to be military helicopters..but then later , i dont remember, which, said...tht later it was found..tht helicopters were from ministry of interior? @PakSword

To probe criminal charges of money laundering and/ or corruption, yes. To investigate declaration of assets of the dependents in 2013 elections, no need.

This is the most interesting petition. No idea what happened. But this one will be very quick to for disqualification. Investigation of corruption, money laundering etc can follow after disqualification (hopefully :) ) I hope it is not merged with others.

Wolves in sheeps' clothing. Very complicated :)

You are right, SC judges are known to sell their souls to devil in the past. Anything can happen.

Yes it was heard, SR didn't agree with the proposal of judicial commission. He argued his petition may be heard by the same larger bench headed by CJ and may not be merged with other petitions. His petition is crucial, unlike other three petitions his petition exclusively prays for the disqualification on grounds of perjury. SC is yet to decide how to proceed with his petition.

PM is one giant of a fugitive from justice. Yesterday his lawyer contended that family would not question the maintainability of the petitions and today PM has a lot different to say.

@Farah Sohail @Zibago

And u know what the sad part is? most probably he will succeed in his strategy.. given the status of our judicial system... I think he will most probably be acquitted for lack of evidence..or on the question of maintainability. I have not a bit faith in our judicial system.. it will be a miracle...if he actually gets punished

I don't think the question of maintainability can be brought in again, the petitions have been admitted already. As for lack of evidence, yeah it's heck of a job to get the evidences for corruption verified. NAB. FIA, FBR etc will leave no stone unturned to help PM escape. PM however is guilty of perjury, there are irrefutable evidences for that. I'll be disappointed along with rest of the nation if PM escapes conviction of a perjurer.

Nawaz sharif has right to express views & to show any grievance . We can't close anybody mouth. Now, This is open society, and must open to any criticism either from government or opposition party

He should have opened his mouth yesterday and should have questioned the maintainability of the petitions. His lawyer was asked if he had any question on maintainability of petitions and he replied Sharifs had no question, the court could proceed with petitions.

Lolzzz, then he is feeling pressure after PTI march. If nawaz sharif is sure about legality of assets, he should be confident about proceeding of court.
