ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday announced that his party lawmakers would return salaries of the period during which party had staged a sit-in.
Speaking to media after Central Executive Council meeting of PTI, Imran Khan said the moot reviewed the preparations for upcoming local bodies election.
When asked to comment on arrest of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Mineral Development, Ziaullah Afridi on charges of corruption by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Mr Khan said though the detained minister was an important and a hardworking member of PTI, the party would not make any compromise on corruption.
“Our NAB has arrested Ziaullah, NAB is operating independently in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” said the PTI chief, adding that the minister will have to resign if NAB has registered a case against him.
Imran Khan welcomed peace talks between Taliban and the Afghan government which he said would help figure out hardliners among the militants.
He said ideological workers of the Pakistan People’s Party were now joining the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Answering another question, he said the PTI would accept decision of the inquiry commission of election rigging
