The PTI government's previous position was that it want national consensus

The Kalabagh Dam does not have national consensus due to the bad blood build up over the past decades.
There is an alternative outlined in the "Pakistan Flood Control System"
Per Slide 53, kalabagh would not be able to stop the effects of a flood adequately
The Alternative location is on the
Soan River, and the estimated cost (slide 81) is $6.3 Billion in 2008 Dollars, or approximately
$7.7 Billion in 2020 Dollars (

This presentation is not a pie in the sky presentation, but
an actual presentation given to Wapda in 2010/2011. This was the WAPDA of the PPP government.
The Soan Dam would be able to store
38.4 MAF while Kalabagh would only be approx. 5 MAF
The Soan Dam would be able to generate
18000 MW while Kalabagh per the 2004 Article is estimated at
4000 MW
4.5 times the Electricity generation, 7 times the water storage at half the cost of the Kalabagh Dam
If this news is true about the PTI government looking into the Kalabagh Dam, I ask anyone that knows anyone that can get the "Pakistan Flood Control System" in front of the government, to do so for the sake of national unity and a better plan.
