LAHORE: The Pakistan-Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI) unveiled its manifesto for the coming election on Tuesday, DawnNews reported.

The ceremony was attended by party chief Imran Khan, Dr Shireen Mazari, Firdous Shamim Naqvi and other party leaders.

The new Pakistan arising out of PTI’s election into power would not fight any other country’s war, the manifesto revealed at a local five-star hotel in Lahore said.

Khan said so far he had fulfilled every promise he had made and had conducted intra-party polls and awarded party tickets to the youth in this regard, adding that he would not make any promises which could not be fulfilled.

Revealing the party’s manifesto, Khan announced that local body elections would be held within 90 days of PTI’s election into power.

He vowed to eliminate corruption from the country, adding that he would not form any kind of a coalition government.

He was of the view the parliamentarians’ job was to make policies and not to carry out development projects. The PTI chief said his government would legislate on policy and the local government would carry out development work.

He further said that if his party was elected into power the entire country would be de-weaponised, with first priority accorded to Karachi.

The manifesto also emphasised on the prevailing energy crisis in the country and pledged an end to electricity load-shedding from the country within three years’ time.

It further said that the public at large would be empowered and that the provincial governor and chief minister houses would be converted into libraries and educational institutes.

The anti-terrorism laws would also be changed, the manifesto promised, while highlighting terrorism as a key issue confronting Pakistan.

So what happens if PTI does not win an outright majority of seats, but is the one with most seats?

The independent candidates can join him... and he can ask them to come on.

But from what it seems, he will win. If the forces and intelligence are willing.

I think that is called "forming a coalition government". Coalitions can include independents or other parties.
