Allocation 2018-19 - 166.231 (Rupees Million)

Acquisition and Development of Land for NPP Project Site Rangpur ? Is this the same project as the NPP in Muzzafargarh?? Who knows. Hopefully it's an indigenous NPP development.

Pakistan Research Reactor-3 (10MWthupgradeable to 20 MWth) - YES!! NEW PARR-3 Research reactor as I predicted!!!

New Schemes:

Establishment of Space Applications Research Centre Gilgit-Baltistan

Pakistan Multi-Mission Satellite (PakSat-MMI), Lahore & Karachi

Pakistan Space Center (PSC), Islamabad, Lahore & Karachi (China)

Would have liked to have seen more $ for an indigenous NPP based off Kanupp-1, laser enrichment, SLV and Space launch facility but good schemes getting approved overall. Hope to see results!

What are you highlights?

These are peanuts. Need to increase the budgetary allocation for these initiatives by about a 100 fold for it to make any meaningful sense. As an example, the 166 million rupees allocated for fusion research come to about US$ 1.2 million. That's embarrassingly low if you compare it with any practical fusion program in the world. the ITER (expected commisioning date 2025) is expected to cost more than US$ 22 billion... On a side note, India is a partner in ITER but we are not. Utter shame, since if we do not join in these multilateral initiatives from the get-go, it will highly unlikely for us to acquire the tech later on given the global political narrative.
