I was searching the internet and came across an old news regarding Prophet Muhammad movie in Iran and decided to post it here for people that are interested in movies .

Oscar-nominated Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi’s religious blockbuster Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is scheduled to premiere in the coming year.


The film which is currently passing its post-production phase has been completed after three years of research and production process.

While the main parts of the film was shot in Iran, Majidi along with his team traveled to Africa and shot few sections of the project in the city of Bela-Bela in the Limpopo Province of South Africa.

The movie focuses on Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) life from childhood until prophethood. The first draft of the screenplay was co-authored by Majidi and Iranian filmmaker and screenwriter Kambuzia Partovi.

American filmmaker and Hollywood visual effects supervisor Scott E. Anderson along with several other world renowned cineastes contributed to Majidi’s great cinematic project.

Three-time Academy Award winning Italian cameraman Vittorio Storaro also collaborated with Majidi in his recent cinematic rendition.

Storaro who has great projects such as Apocalypse Now, Reds and The Last Emperor, visited Iran last year to meet with the Iranian cast and crew.

The cast members were selected under the supervision of Majidi and Italian makeup artist Giannetto De Rossi who collaborated in the grand project.

Historical documents and facts have been compiled with the help of scholars, historians and clerics from different countries including Iran, Morocco, Tunisia, Lebanon, Iraq and Algeria over a year.

Produced by Mohammad Mehdi Heidarian, the film has been set to be released in Persian, Arabic and English.

Majid Majidi is an internationally and critically acclaimed Iranian film director, film producer, and screen writer whose films have touched on many themes and genres and has won many international awards.

Born in 1959, Majidi started his artistic life at the age of 14 with acting in amateur theater groups. He studied art at the Institute of Dramatic Art in Tehran.

His acclaimed film, Children of Heaven (1997), was the first Iranian film to have been nominated for an Academy Award (Best Foreign Language Film) in1999.

Majidi’s 1999 film The Color of Paradise was chosen one of the best 10 films of the year in the US in 2000.

Oh they won't. There have been there Iranian films that have been excellent.

Either way finding Urdu versions or English subtitles, these films are gems.

Many Iranians now hate Islam and the prophet more than anything you can think of. One doesn't need to go far to know. Just by reading the comments of many Iranian members throughout PDF, you could see the intense hatred. I think the Iranian Regime is artificially trying to present a picture for their own people as "religious", while the truth is completely different. A lot are living in serious doubts and uncertainty while bitterly wishing that their country remained Zoroastrian as it was before Islam. That doesn't necessarily have to do with them being Shia. Arab, Pakistani, and Afghan Shia are quiet religious.

The Iranian communities living abroad are the quickest communities to assimilate. Signs of religiousness among them (like hijab for women) is extremely rare, compared to other Islamic communities like Pakistanis, Afghans, and Arabs. Some people attribute this to the improper management of the current regime for the country, or the systematic secularization that the Pahlavis have done, and some say it is an inherent part of Persian culture that considers Islam to be the enemy that made them loos their prior significance in the Middle East.

You have not lived in Iran and don't know much about people here the same way I don't know about your country .

As a person that have been in 29 out of 31 provinces of Iran I ensure you Iranians care about their religion and it plays an important part in their lives and believe me a couple of people in net or abroad do not represent around 80 million Iranians .

Its sad they a negative view about Islam, but then again, its their country and culture, religion is individual matter so they can choose to follow whatever they want. When people say muslims are 1 billion population, i think there is no point of this number when most of them are just born to Muslim parents or are having 'Muslim names', it would be much better if most people who don't agree with Islam just leave or don't associate with it, even if the number goes down to 1 million, there wont be any complications then

But, you still hate their nation for opposing Israel. There's no reason why Europeans should be fanatically pro-Israel in their policy. If you weren't that way the Middle East would have been a paradise. Instead, you destroy every nation through various means which doesn't submit to Israel. And somehow associate supporting an terrorist/aparheid/ethnocratic state with being civilized. It's truly stupid.

Why was the West so fearful of the Ayatullah Ruhullah Khomeini? The most important reason was his message of reconciliation.
