I don't know which side carries weight, if in fact a temple was demolished and a masjid was made on top of it, then it was against the teachings and spirit of Islam and the fact that we can rectify it, is undoing that wrong. In matters such as these we have to err on the side of caution as can be observed in the life of our Prophet. I can bring in examples but I have always maintained that threads are no place for having a constructive discussion.
