My post actually means that behavior of political parties cannot be changed, instead we should look to change the system by which corrupt politicians are elected(this is one of the things ANNA HAZARE has been fighting for-this clause in present in JAN LOKPAL BILL).

On one hand you are talking against corruption and on the other hand you are talking about leaders like Mayawati......should I mention the list of "ghotalas" Mayawati has been involved in.

Our AC are of 40000T displacement range ie around 30-40 fighters can be decked... in comparison china is trying its hands on varyag ~65000t capacity ie. around 50-60 fighters can be decked on it... shouldn't we rethink the plans for IAC2 and IAC3 ?

They can't carry that many fighters, but most probably that many aircrafts, which includes helicopters too. Groshkov is estimated with around 22 fighters, IAC 1 around 30 possibly and the capacity of the chinese carriers are still unreliable but it is already clear that IAC 2 and followers will be bigger and will carry more fighters. Btw, the reason why IAC 2 is said to be long way off is once, because the production capabilities of our docks in the carrier building field has to be seen, during the development of IAC 1. We are completely new in this field and although we might have help from Italian and Russian assistance, a development without any problems and delays would be highly surprising. However, it will be a huge learning curve for us and we will gain a lot experience, that could make some things easier in the IAC 2 development.
The second reason is, that there is a lot of pre-planning needed, before you can launch a new carrier. You need to know what take of system the carrier will have for its fighters, ski-jump or catapults, because the selection of a carrier fighter is greatly dependent on that. Not to mention that the selection of the aircrafts is critical for the design too, because it defines also what size the hangar must have, what size and weight limit the elevators must have, how many aircrafts the carrier will accommodate...
So far we are still in an very early stage of the development of IAC 2, they cleared a development partner, they are gathering infos about possible carrier fighters and AEW aircrafts, they are trying to get catapults..., still so much to do, so we shouldn't jump into too high expectations yet.

But let me tell you(and to those who are advising us to stick to the thread) one thing.............this thread is not just about IACs, it's actually about DELAY in Aircraft-carrier launch.....which obviously raises the question of why there is a delay.....and political system/will comes into this as it is a government project.........so logically, we were actually discussing correctly and you guys are taking it to the wrong direction.
So I would request you guys to at least read the thread title(if not the whole body) carefully before advising others.
Even the thread starter started the thread by saying "India’s poor record in meeting deadlines............."

I read somewhere that project got delayed due to delay import of particular kind of Steel from Russia, later on SAIL stated manufacturing it and project got the pace. I think the launch is 2yrs delayed. Also time would be consumed for sea-trials also.

There can be different reasons.....political/apolitical etc......and when you are suggesting any particular reason then you should back it up with proofs (preferably links from credible sites).
