Acc. to Alan Warnes, PAC will manufacture 12 additional Block 2's in 2018. That makes it 112 Block 1/2 aircraft (6 squadrons).



ALCM could refer to air launched, anti-ship cruise missiles like the CM-400AKG.



The AESA radar was to be finalized by May 2017. Any update ?

No info on AESA radar, HMD/S or HOBS AAM, but they're coming with Block-III. As for which ALCM, all weapons listed or implied in the brochure will be MTCR compliant. I suspect it's an off the shelf option for customers.

We are going to sell Raad along with JF-17? Or you mean some other ALCM? Because Raad is listed in the brochure if I am not mistaken.

Ra'ad isn't mentioned or listed in the brochure, just 'Air Launched Cruise Missile.' I suspect if a buyer wants an ALCM, PAC will integrate the Turkish SOM or South African Raptor III (albeit not a traditional ALCM, but it's propelled by a turbojet and comes with similar payload options as the SOM (HE and penetration), so it serves the same function). That or they can develop a Ra'ad Lite.

In other words, a Ra'ad Lite would smaller, lighter, shorter range and cheaper with off-the-shelf targeting and flight control systems (e.g. from Turkey, South Africa or China) and restricted payload options (limited to probably just HE and Penetrating). For all intents and purposes, it could simply be an amalgamation of subsystems and hardware options already available on the market, but collated and marketed from Pakistan.

That or just partner with Roketsan and Denel Dynamics to integrate the SOM and Raptor III as ALCM options for the JF-17. In fact, I wouldn't mind if the PAF itself goes for either of those if it means imbuing the JF-17 with the means to hit from 300 km (REK and C-802A are 60 km and 180 km, respectively).

Since it's a marketing brochure, I would wager some MTCR-compliant ALCM. They can either partner with a foreign company to integrate their ALCM (e.g. Turkish SOM or South African Raptor III), or produce a new lightweight ALCM in Pakistan using off-the-shelf components.

Was it 12 jf-17b or single seaters?
I though it was 12 dual seater plus the two paf getting in December so total 14 dual seaters looks like ocu will get 4 and remains two each to jf sqns

this is big news regarding another pod point under right air intake(it also makes you wounder why wasn't this done from get go like the other aircrafts in its class e.g the LCA)

What are the chances of conformal tanks being introduced for Block III? 50%?

What PAC Boucher ?? PAC has not updated their web site in years brought it to someone attention and he mentioned .....

Block II will all be finished by the end of the year all 50 ?? To replace no 18 I guess the last f7p operator

Theses specs are for which block ? 1/2/3, max take off and external load went up so now it has better specs than mirage 3/5 in term of load plus it already enjoys better range thanks to turbo fan engine

Internal ecm it already had some which I have seen at jf coe but cannot share much about it

One under intake pylon for aselpod like f16 rhs or jas-39 rumors we two under intake to bring total to 9

Any way I am curious if sd-10 dual launcher like seen on jf-17b model at the show ??
