New Delhi, January 25 (IANS) The special and privileged strategic partnership between Russia and India is an invariable priority in Moscow’s foreign policy, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday while greeting India on its Republic Day.

In his message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee, Putin said India has achieved success in economic, scientific, technical and social spheres.

“Your country (India) plays an important and constructive role in solving pressing issues of the regional and international agenda,” the Russian President said in a statement issued here on the eve of India’s 68th Republic Day.

“Over the decades of independent development, India has achieved impressive success in economic, social, scientific, technical and other spheres. Special and privileged strategic partnership with India is an invariable priority in Russia’s foreign policy,” he said.

The Russian President also reiterated his country’s “readiness to further strengthen of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in various areas. In this respect, great importance is being attached to the implementation of the map of events dedicated to the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between our countries.”

. .
Happy to see that we are trying to iron out our differences. What more can a Russian fan boy expect.

. . .
India can act as bridge between the Russia and us. Not to meddle but to iron out differences. One more reason I like India.

Russia will be up for sale as soon as Pakistan has a relationship (Btw in terms of relationship).

Action speaks louder then words :D . even China play goody goody with them .

sorry to bust the indian bubble but that's a signal to india from Putin to say bye bye to your "strategic" partnership with the u.s. Read between the lines..."privileged" means if you want privileges from russia then say good bye to partnership with the u.s. Not a good situation to be in, india has to choose between two pimps, can't have both!

Epic Fail.
In the Indo-Russian context, Privileged means having special advantages for each other.

Yes we know that you're an epic fail.

Anyways, your retardation aside, the only "privilege" that india offers Russia is rotten vegetables!

Seems "privilege" in the Pakistani dictionary is akin to prostitution as claimed by the member here.
No wonder china dangles dollars and their Pakistani counterparts are willing to bend over and grab their ankles, all the while thinking this is normal! LOL.
Unfortunately dear sir, other countries do not subscribe to this limited edition Pakistani dictionary you're referencing!
Our relationships are based on mutual respect not selling our respect! Capiche?!

you should be the last one to talk about prostitution since india is trying to prostitute itself out to both Russia and the u.s.

LOL!
I WAS the last one to talk about it, being that you brought in the comparison to Prostitution to begin with! It seems I'm dealing with a goldfish over here with a 10 second memory.

But you're right, I was wrong in my comparison earlier, the china Pakistan relationship is more like exploitation would be the correct term. Pakistan doesn't even get paid, it has to end up paying china with its sovereignty and high interest loans instead!

What's that saying..,"andhe se marwao aur phir ghar chor key kao" fits right into this china-Pak situation. Pity!

I have a feeling that Trump will mend differences with Russia. After the end of cold war and ex Soviet Union countries shedding communism, there is nothing that will sustain hostility between Russia and the US. Russia knows that it does not have much chances to dominate the world like it did as Soviet Union. From challenging the USA on her own might, Russia is fast becoming the second fiddle to China. International relations are all about national interest after all.
