Yes! That is correct. That particular excerpt is from volume one of the Ford translation. Though he addresses the issue of "modern art" in much greater detail in other passages within the book but those are too long to post here.

Here's another one from the chapter titled Causes of The Collapse which is the tenth chapter (also Vol. I):

"In this age you only see the production of filth, but it does not stop with its own creations. In addition, this generation slandered everything truly great from the past. This is, of course, not an unusual historic occurrence. The more vile and contemptible the products of an age and its men are, the more they despise and disparage the achievements of past greats. Only by removing this standard for comparison can they make their own trash appear to be “art”. The more despicable and wretched a new movement is, the more it will try to extinguish every last trace of the past."

U.K.-based artist Conor Collins paid tribute to Princess Diana in an unusual way, using a mixture of HIV-positive blood and diamond dust to paint her portrait.

Collins, 29, unveiled the image via Twitter on Tuesday afternoon.

Collins, who identifies as gay, told HuffPost that he has wanted to tackle the lingering stigma around HIV/AIDS through his work for some time.

Last year he painted a portrait of President Donald Trump using, Collins said, “racist, sexist, ignorant and bigoted” terms that Trump used during his time on the campaign trail and in office.
