PM to give important statement on Saudi-Yemen situation today

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will deliver an important statement at 6:30 pm.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk / Reuters) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is expected to give an important statement on Saudi-Yemen situation on Monday.

The ruling PML-N posted a message on Twitter:

"Both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoys historic relations and both the countries have stood by each others in the hour of trial," the Radio Pakistan reported.

The joint session of the parliament has already passed a unanimous resolution to maintain neutrality in Yemen conflict and only support Saudi Arabia if there is any threat to its territorial integrity.

Saudi Arabia had asked Pakistan to provide ships, aircraft and troops for the campaign. The Saudi-led alliance began air strikes in Yemen against the Houthis on March 26 after the rebels, who already control the capital, began a rapid advance towards the southern port city of Aden.

Saudi Arabia is concerned that the violence could spill over the border it shares with Yemen.

Although it will be an embarrassing situation for Nawaz Sharif Govt but much needed one as far our natural interest in concerned. Pakistan should dispatch atleast 10,000 to Saudia Arab at once. We owe them a lot and its time to pay back. It will also balance out the things between Saudia Arab and Pakistan in years to come. Our troops should guard the border while Saudis can go in. We can provide them back up.

We are already tensed up, we see our brothers in Afghanistan suffering, our own country has become a sectarian and now they want to involve is in Yemen.

I don't think Pakistani troops will have the motivation to fight in Yemen, it was difficult enough fighting our own misguided fools let alone going and fighting some desert tribes.

No it won't. The only sectarian tensions has been started by the groups like LeJ which we need to contain as much as possible.

Do you really think Saudis have the guts to fight on the ground in Yemen? No,houtis are well armed organised and motivated that's why Saudis want Pakistanis to go and enter Yemen and fight.

They just don't want you to guard the borders.

Well why take that chance?, Did you know people in Fata were supporting TTP Purely because they were a pukhtoon outfit to start with.

Many will disagree but that is the truth that some elements carried that mentality.

Than Pakistani Army should go in. As simple as that. We owe them a lot.
