its one of the best destroyers china has in service right now, in design it has some stealth features. it has a domestically produced active phased array radar system, 360 degree coverage with the HHQ9 long range air defense missiles. with capabilities similar to the AEGIS system
this is basically the type of destroyer needed to escort aircraft carriers one that is not only able to defend it self but provide air defense for other ship at long range and its ASW capabilities, anti-ship, and anti-land capabilities are no joke either.

Thanks for the brief yet to the point reply.....

So how many of this class of destroyers does the chinese navy have/plan to produce?
Also, is it available for export?
You also mentioned that it has the HQ9 air defence missiles.....
So what kind of evasive measures or counters does it possess for anti-ship cruise and ballistic missiles.

In addition, can you go into the anti-sub capabilities of the same as a sub I would think would be the greatest threat to this kind of a ship.

I see that it has the ability to land helicopters? Is that Anti-sub Helos or just basic reconnaisance helos and how many?

Thanks...and pardon me on the question overload......

there is 2 of this particular type, the government seems to only want 2 of this right now because the capability to mass produce is there they just haven't built any new ones. also work on the 052D is ongoing.

there doesn't seem to be any push for the export of this system at the moment.

the HHQ9 missile are said to be developed from or at least heavily influenced by the s-300 system thus we can expect similar capabilities. for the missiles that you have mentioned it is not the job of the HHQ9 to deal with them it is the job of the type 730 CIWS(effective range ~3km) it can track 0.1 square meter radar cross sections at 8 km. a newer version is being develop which is suppose to include missiles as well(land version test successful).

this type of destroyers are not meant as ASW ships but it has 2 triple torpedo tubes and its decoy launchers can launch anti sub rockets and of courses as with most destroyers now it has a heli pad.
it can carry 1 helicopter and they are generally for ASW but i guess if the situation calls for it other types can be carried.

52C won't be mass produced because it serves as a prototype for 52D and beyond. It's China's first AESA destroyer, there are still many problems to iron out.
