After a Chinese envoy arrived in South Korea, the two sides have reportedly reached an agreement to take "strong action" against North Korea if nuclear and ballistic missile testing continues, according to VOA News.

Joel Witt, co-founder of 38 North, a website that brings together experts on North Korea, told Business Insider that the country's nuclear and ballistic missile progress has appeared to rapidly increase over the past year as the program reaches the point where it needs to be tested.

China Threatens To Bomb North Korea's Nuclear Facilities If It Crosses Beijing's "Bottom Line"
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-...ar-facilities-if-it-crosses-beijings-bottom-l

With everyone putting down new and/or revised "red lines", be it on Syria or North Korea, it was now China's turn to reveal its "red" or rather "bottom line", and in a harshly worded editorial titled "The United States Must Not Choose a Wrong Direction to Break the DPRK Nuclear Deadlock on Wednesday" Beijing warned it would attack North Korea's facilities producing nuclear bombs, effectively engaging in an act of war, if North Korea crosses China's "bottom line."

The editorial in the military-focused Global Times tabloid, owned and operated by the Communist Party's People's Daily newspaper, said that North Korea’s nuclear activities must not jeopardize northeastern China, and that if the North impacts China with its illicit nuclear tests through either "nuclear leakage or pollution", then China will respond with force.

“China has a bottom line that it will protect at all costs, that is, the security and stability of northeast China... If the bottom line is touched, China will employ all means available including the military means to strike back. By that time, it is not an issue of discussion whether China acquiesces in the US’ blows, but the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) will launch attacks to DPRK nuclear facilities on its own."

This, as the editorial puts it, is the "bottom line" for China; should it be crossed China will employ all means available including the military means to strike back," warned the editorial.

It is worth noting is that shortly after publication, the article seems to have been retracted without explanation, the URL now returning a "404" error. However not before the original article was cached on a webpage owned by China Military, courtesy of google.

I have heard China has asked S.Korea to buy THAAD from USA and operate it by it's self to make the relation better.

S.Korea is losing 14 billion dollars annually in trade due to THAAD and the cost of THAAD is 1.3 billion dollars.

may be Xi and Trump reach some sort of agreement over South China sea too ..

Yes, Trump said either you help us or we will take it on by ourselves and the Chinese will be bystanders. All that blustering by Chinese here about how they can take on the U.S. is really typical stuff we hear from despots

Sounds like someone is getting cold feet and hope China can do the job instead..

Not gonna happen.

Yes, us forcing you to take on your neighbor you've been cajoling for decades is all about the U.S getting cold feet

China wont dare to demand NK. Shangai and Bejing are within striking distance of NK nukes.

I really think it is the end for North Korea. The Military solution isn't possible but starving it into submission is. 80% of its trade is with China.
I feel sorry for the poor people.

US is forcing China? I'm wondering who has lost the strategic patience.

Let me understand this- We lost our strategic patience, which made us make you jump and prepare to go after NK? That's hilarious

Trump, as it was reported, told your President he acts or we go at it alone. Now you are moving 150k troops to the border as reported in the last 72hrs, making plans to go after NK. For decades you cajoled and placated that fellow despot. You are now forced to act because Trump put the fear in your President.

strategic patience

Actually China is putting pressure on NK to stop its nuclear tests (or to do them far away from China's border areas)..

The Chinese moves are to prevent any war in the area, since a war that has the potential to go nuclear will affect China and the two Koreas, where the US mainland is far away and safe from any nuclear repercussions.. China might go as far as trying to attack NK's nuclear facilities to grab the arsenal and prevent a nuclear attack by NK.. but this is the extreme case if China sees it fit to do.. the US might put more pressure on China to go for it rather sooner than later..
