Look the way I see it it's like communism, many tried it and it failed always. These people also claim that those countries were not really communist and that it could work, but it doesn't because the rulers were bad or these or that.

The way I see it Islam and Sharia had enough time to prove itself, around 1500 years passed. But except for some short periods in history it failed. Democracy and secularism > Islam and Sharia.

Zulkarneyn, as I can see you're from good old Europe too. You should read a bit about why Turkish immigrants are in many cases more conservative then the citizens of it's home country. It's really easy to want this or do that when you live in one of the richest and most-democratic countries in the world.

Wow you really have some personal issues don't you? Just weeks ago after the excessive insults, you apologized to me and wanted me to accept your apology. But now, after getting unbanned just 1-2 weeks and you are at your ugly insults again. You write insulting stuff, later you get sorry for what you have written and can't stand yourself. I beg to differ. The way i see it people from Central Anatolia (Kayseri, Sivas, Gaziantep, Konya etc) tend to take religious paractices more seriously than West Turkey and Izmir. Most Turks who live in European countries are from these cities. That aside, i know that the Ottoman empire was not a perfect Sharia state as well, it had plenty of flaws as Republic of Turkey today has. But any practicing Muslim cannot say that he is against the rule of Allah, that is simply illogical and against the nature of Islam. If you are a Muslim you don't just select some Ayets or Surahs from the Quran and say you don't accept other Ayets or Surahs because they are against modernity. But then again, if the people of Turkey do not want Sharia that is ok with me, because the majority is against it. I don't go and critizise their lifestyles, every ones faith is to oneself, and Allah will judge us, we will not judge each other in the afterlife.
