President Xi Jinping Visits Pakistan.

So much preparations etc...how much money you guys got at the end

Money is an important issue, but how to use the money wisely is more important, some people are good at get money, buy stuff, get more money, buy more stuff, being the milk cow and be proud of the stuff; some people are good at get money, spend some on purchasing, spend some on development, it is different. China didn't get today's money in one day, e.g. 15 years ago, high speed train was not in my mind, 10 years ago, high speed train was a once in a while for fun thing for me, today, high speed train becomes part of normal life which covers every big cities from east end to west end, it is not a one day thing but a process through planning and executive abilities, and China did it within 15 years, together with many other improvements. Wording can go boundless and very emotional, but what can really prove something is the fact, China focused in the past 10s years on economy development and the world sees the fact. I am very happy to see the solid relationship and corporation between China and Pakistan in the past several 10s years in different fields, every Chinese knows when talking about Pakistan, it is brother, it is trust, economy and industries are big things for any country, I have to say I can't be more happy to see China finally takes the step to invest big in Pakistan, China Pakistan will help each other to build a brilliant future through the cooperation.

yup but the thing is JF17 is like a sign of our friendship with China. KHW or helping China to defend their rights at the highest forums cannot be used as sign of friendship to be more clear and precise. Signs are always those things which are small but much more effective in defining the thing it related to............................
Here are some other facts....

PIA's Role
Capt M. T. Baig was indeed nicknamed Timmy by his mother who was English.
- He was born on Aug 9, 1927, which would make him 83 years old at the time he passed on.
-Of the numerous achievements of Capt. Baig, the one he spoke most fondly of was his commanding Dr. Henry Kissenger's secret flight in July 1971 to China to meet Zhou Enlai. This secret flight was the start of paving the way for opening up diplomatic ties between USA and China.

In 1960s, when Burundi broke-off its relations with China, a PIA Boeing was chartered by China to evacuate Chinese embassy staff from Burundi. That PIA Boeing was also piloted by Capt. Taimur Baig.

There was an interesting incident that took place on that particular flight where the Chinese Embassy was being evacuated. Enroute, a message came into the cockpit that there was a bomb on board. The nearest landing spot at that time was in India but Capt Baig weighed the pros and cons of landing in India with a planeful of top security documents and chose to take a chance and carry on to next safe site in East Pakistan. Later on it was discovered that the message had been passed on by a PIA crew member allegedly working for the CIA. This crew member disappeared soon thereafter and is said to have relocated in the USA.

The incident is also mentioned in Enver Jamall's book. A PIA captain who was in charge of PIA Sikorsky S-61N helicopter operations in East Pakistan was suspected of having created this hoax bomb alert aboard the PIA Boeing carrying Chinese Embassy staff.

The suspected PIA captain was aboard the aircraft at the time incident when a chit was received by Chinese Ambassador aboard the aircraft, the chit indicated presence of a bomb timed to blow off in 30 minutes. The chit advised immediate landing of PIA Boeing at Calcutta. The PIA Boeing was in Indian air space near Calcutta at that time and landing the aircraft on Indian soil would have created embarrassment for the Chinese government.

At that moment the descent time to Dacca was 30 minutes so Capt. Taimur decided to proceed to Dacca on emergency clearance and safely landed at Dacca Airport. No explosive was found in the aircraft after landing at Dacca Airport.

The suspected PIA captain was recalled to Karachi for investigation by Pakistani intelligence officials but the suspect managed to disappear from Karachi. It's thought he managed to escape on a US military aircraft from Mauripur Air Base, Karachi, now known as PAF Base Masroor.

An individual never bark like dogs in the street, bashing every comments now and then like you.

Chai Wala please be a good little twerp and serve some tea, before you embarrass yourself furthermore. The only dog barking in this forum is you, because you have a burning itch of seeing investment flowing into Pakistan. Learn to write proper English sentences because you sound like a typical dullard who was educated from the slums of Mumbai.

Bottomline is, China will have to be patient with our laid back Pakistani planning, enforcement of contract, and technical support. In the area of coal mining alone, Pakistan has no expertise to my knowledge. Hopefully, there will be a determination in Pakistan to sort out past problems.

One of the things that never fails to surprise is that we in Pakistan are happy to let China execute projects from start to finish without being involved in the learning process. Projects in the proposed investment are massive, and Pakistani technocrats and engineers can benefit from the experience. A tie-up with some of the engineering schools like NUST, offering practicums, specialized courses related to the projects, etc would go a long way in building the next generation of our Pakistani engineers. USD 46 billion is close to 20% of Pakistan's GDP. In addition to building infrastructure, some of the investment should be in engineering education and project management.

Any Indian poster coming on here making stupid comments here will face an instant ban. Two have already gone.

It's nice to hear from an African friend who knows some hsitory of friendly interaction between China and Africa. My father also went to an African country in 1983 and worked there in two years to build a football stadium. The project was financed by an aid program of Chinese government.
of course welcome my dear friend. This is not the first time China came to africa but Admiral Zheng He. I saw many artifacts from his expedition that visited East Africa in the museam in Dar-es-Salaam.

Go Green: The Chinese first lady's style screams brotherhood

China's first lady Peng Liyuan may not be as flamboyant as Modi when it comes to her attire but there's no doubt she chooses her clothes with care.

During Chinese president Xi Jinping's visit to Pakistan, the first lady made a decisive statement about Pak-China relations through her attire — and the statement seems to be: go green!

As the presidential couple arrived in Pakistan, Peng Liyuan chose to wear a plain white jacket over a deep green dress with a light green scarf to go with it, accessorized with a brooch. The look was very Benazir, minus the shoulder pads and headscarf.

Sporting pulled-back hair, Liyuan's choice of colours reflected the spirit behind this breakthrough visit between the two states.

The first lady drove the point home by wearing another green outfit later, as she accompanied her husband to see a cultural show with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his wife Kulsoom Nawaz, Asif Ali Zardari and his daughter Asifa.

Green seemed the colour of the moment as Liyuan chose to wear another green outfit today, at the Presidency.

Liyuan wasn't the only figure who let her outfit match her sentiments on this diplomatic tour. Pakistani federal minister Ahsan Iqbal sported a green tie as China's first couple arrived, and later, Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq wore one too.

Amid all this patriotism, Pakistan's leading ladies disappointed. Kulsoom Nawaz was mostly seen in drab shades of pink and beige — surely something brighter would've signified solidarity more effectively.

Liyuan is probably the most high-profile political spouse in China after revolutionary leader Mao Zedong's wife. This isn't the first time Liyuan's style has been analysed — she's developed her own signature style for state visits and has attracted attention for it.

Xi Jinping's warm welcome in Pakistan

Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Pakistan on Monday to launch projects worth $46 billion, a figure that would far exceed U.S. spending in Pakistan and underscores China's economic ambitions in Asia and beyond.

Xi oversaw agreements on pipelines, power plants and other projects as part of a massive $46 billion joint development programmme that Beijing hopes will stabilise its longtime ally's economy and extend China's influence in western Asia. Pakistan hopes that the investment plan will end a chronic energy crisis and transform it into a regional economic hub.
