Arabs have oil and China needs oil, China has money but had little influence. China is taking the advantage of US-KSA downturn in relations and it would be interesting to know what their game plan is. Arms for oil or technology for oil or even a grand extension of the Belt road initiative? Perhaps a tunnel joining DJIBouti to Yemen which would vastly increase regional trade and development. We know one thing for sure the Chinese are more strategic and think of mutual gain and deliver on their promises, very reliable partners and honorable people indeed.

Arab oil is dangerous, Iran can close Hormuz strait if someday Israel starts a Iran war.

Russian oil is a more reliable energy source to China.
