yes and no! I studied Urdu in Farsi script at beginning of 1970s. Then had to spend another year to learn it again in Arabic script before going to Pakistan in 1977. They had retained the Farsi letters but changed their appearance to look like Arabic

yes and no! I studied Urdu in Farsi script at beginning of 1970s. Then had to spend another year to learn it again in Arabic script before going to Pakistan in 1977. They had retained the Farsi letters but changed their appearance to look like Arabic
