I know it is very difficult for any US president to visit Pakistan, not due to its security situation but now it is not profitable for them to do so, India now is more profitable to be with.
Bush only visited Pakistan for few hours and it was just for gesture not business like he did with India, now it seem US don't even want to show any gesture of balanced policy in the region. It is up to FO of Pakistan to create a balanced Foreign Policy in which Pakistan is not tilted towards one power.
1) I agree that India has its own place now. Its one of the largest countries population wise and does trillions worth of trade with all major countries so the relationship is going to be different.
2) On Pakistan, if you think the US isn't giving you the space compared to India.....who's fault is that? Is it the US's fault that you miscalculated the Terrorism threat even when the US told you many times?? And then every single big city, your own mosques, churches, airports and military basis were hit from the SAME good + bad terrorists that you had been advised about?
The thing is, you as a nation choose your path and your leaders design the way for you. When you have generals as leaders, the only path they know and have been trained for, is fight and intensity. How do you expect a Boxer to work like a Doctor??
What you need was a Civilian government who could treat this sickness called terrorism. Generals were looking at it incorrectly. Now you do have a consensus. Time to course correct and eliminate terrorism from your society.
3) Pakistan is the 6th largest populated country on the planet. 5 places behind India. So once a Peaceful, Democratic and Economically stronger Pakistan starts to emerge, the US and the entire globe would love to work with Pakistan. But Pakistan needs to show its peaceful and tolerant, modern face to the world first.
