I don't get PPPis, Bundle Island will remain where it is after Island city is developed, contributing more to Sindh tax collection. What resources? We all know how corrupt PPPis sold Bahria town Karachi land to Malik Riaz.

I mean PPPis should more then anyone else continue to support Karachi development who give it 95% of sindh tax revenues and its population large share in NFC. Ruling it while having no political stake.

What do you think of it? Why Federal govt wants to take control of these islands? And why Sindh govt resisting?

Feds want more people to settle in Sindh plus bring more investments which will directly go to islamabad.

They want to build luxury housing schemes, hotels, malls, resorts etc. The feds will get a lot of money, land acquisition to selling housing to overseas Pakistanis plus economic activity.

PPP does not want demographic change a typical hindu trait they learned from hindus. If these developments take place, demographic change will happen and PPP's political power will diminish.

I still believe the best option is to build keti bandar as a new capital of sindh and let PPP rule that city with interior sindh while Karachi and these islands will be spared the turf war. But sadly, strategic thinking is not something prevalent in Pak establishment.

It is very fishy indeed we need to manage our urban sprawls first then think about new developments otherwise the new areas will have the same issues (sewage drainage, waste disposal). What was needed to reverse rural urban migration, low income houses/apartments to finish squatters and slums. This will not help Karachi at all.

These fucking real estate developers are after Imran Khan since day one (remember his verticality talk....). They have made shitty complexes where the fire bigrade cannot get in, there are no fire exits and poor quality wiring -a hazard waiting to happen.
