Here's what goes around:

Initial Medical

1) Minimum Height - 5 feet 4 inches

2) Wieght - As per BMI (Body Mass Index) Chart. It is available over the net, check it out as per you age, height and build.

3)Eyesight - 6/6 with glasses.

4) Should not be color blind

5) No apparant phisical defect.

6) Yes you would have to go naked. Primarily to check that you have not grown breats or something to the effect. A guy would also inspect your gentials with his hands (though not every time) espacially the testicles.


Final Medical (after clearance of ISSB)

1) All the above mentioned checks would be redone.

2) Chest X-ray

3) Blood picture

4) Urine test

5) A visit to ENT specialist - He will 'look into' your ears for ear drum damage etc.

6) A visit to Surgical and Medical specialist.

7) Yep, you would have to go naked again. This time you will also be required to do things like bending over, showing our behind to the doc and coughing.

Respected Sir,My Son appeared in PAF Selection center Rawalpindi on 28th sep for the post of Provost he passed basic tests but was reffered to ENT and Eye Specialist He came back home without visiting them in Any Hospital and said he is not willing for operation of DNS,I convinced him today,and called the selection centre but their Phone was out of order,I want to Know What is the time limit to Submitt the referal form after the opinion of Dr?Secondly instead of CMH/MH rawalpindi can i go to PAF Sargodha for operation of my son keeping in view of my facility (I am From Khushab) will they accept or object on that? My question is regarding my weak eyesight, both eyes are -5.25. However, my vision is 6/6 as per requirements. I have heard people say that there is a limit to which weak eyesight is acceptable. Is this true?
In my perspective a person with, for example, -2.5 sight is as usless without glasses as one with -5.
But, ofcourse, my perspective doesn't mean squat if there actually is a limit or rule regarding this.
Your response would mean a lot to me, thanks.

You have to get it done before the dates for basic/initial test ends. Secondly, you can either visit the selection centre at Pindi and request them to refer him to PAF Hospital or you may visit CMH Rawalpindi and request them to further refer you to Sargodha. I am sure they will entertain your request.

For Army, you eyesight should be 6/6 with glasses.

I am quite worried about my eyesight test. My both eyes are -4 in power but i see nearly perfect using specs. Is it something to be really worried about?
I've also read in the prospectus that they require atleast 6/9 or 6/12 vision with glasses.

Eyesight tests in issb nd final medical is computerised or done using equipments and chart for those with weak eyesights?
