Plz pray for people stuck in chair lift in batgram. One teacher and 7 students are dangling with a single rope. Two ropes have broken. Army helicopter is doing recce for rescue operation.

May Allah keep them safe.

The laying of any cables attached to the car to facilitate an lift or evacuation or even re-string the vehicle to hold it aloft may been seen as risky as both these methods would add weight to the car another option could have involved an complete lift of the stricken car using Turbo-helices aircraft these are heavy lift aircraft that can also hover you simply attach an hook onto the car and the cut the cable as the aircraft holds the cars weight then transport the entire car and passengers to an safe landing spot...However the present pak method to lower a man and winch is the most tried and tested and air sea and mountain rescue the world over regularly use the basket and winch method. Its proved itself already having saved children well done pakistani commandos and armed services personell... I am struggling a bit why some on here are so criticising pilot and crew magnificent efforts in this rescue. Authorities had to recruit bring in proper trained specialists staff for this awful disaster. World was watching this unfold, last thing we Pakistanis wanted was to see the local village rescue team idiots falling off the cables into the ravines beamed around the world!!! That would have been a PR disaster

In my view, even IK and most of his close advisors did not think the Fauj would go to the extent it did, and they continuously called for restraint and respect for the Fauj and dialog with the Fauj to allow free and fair elections.

Unfortunately for Pakistan, The Fauj was and is too power hungry to care, and in the process has made itself a laughing stock.

I am also hearing that too from people I know who are from that area.

It is surprising that local villagers rescued more people than army in same operation . Today Local villagers were better planners than army.

god sake they cant even air lift i saw on tv. why they are not using a more stable copter like chinook and beter rope with extra belt for passenger lift.

Well I wouldn't go that far without knowing the situation on the ground.

Looking at the video, it seems all three guide wires were intact from their mounting points on the mountain side, but instead it was one set of mounting wheels of the dolley that broke off.

But then for the rescue op, it would make sense to first ensure that all the wires were indeed functional and mounted properly and had no problem before sending a guy in. In the meanwhile, makes sense to use a heli to rescue the people.

Perhaps there was a problem with the mounting points? Don't know.

Only issue is the wide spread news fire from KP Whatsapp account stating that these fault do happen and plan has always been using a cable operator via rescue wires but this was stopped by DC and the operation got delayed several hours

Now probably this is mix of lies ...but all of my local friends are saying that DC/AC hijacked the effort and created a disaster by not letting them do what the protocol is (use other cables to send in a guy with Dolly)
