PPP to launch movement for Seraiki province

Syed Ali Haider Gilani said that the PPP was the author and pioneer of the South Punjab province. He said that the PPP had constituted a parliamentary province commission headed by Farhatullah Babar and the province commission had developed a very extensive draft after hectic consultations with all the stakeholders in the South Punjab, including Seraiki nationalists, political workers, intellectuals, writers, poets and civil society activists.

They are seriously trying to take credit for the creation of South Punjab

Saraiki province is a PPP establishment collaborative move to stop karachi census, local body, funds, election seats and province issue. Establishment cant make fool everyone.

More provinces should be made but not based on ethnicities or language but rather on population size. However, if they want Seraiki Sooba we would also carve out Karachi as a province.

I agree the determinant should be how many people can be effectively governed in a province, and while Karachi is basically being held captive by the politics of the rest of Sindh is it possible that Karachi’s politicians could use the size of their populations to form a coalition with other parties in Sindh and outmaneuver the obstructionist PPP. If it is a lost cause then I agree, Karachi needs to separate from Sindh, so that it can rebuild and attract FDI. Although, Ifear without Karachi, Sindh could be totally controlled by the those that already have most of the power but face some pushback from Karachi.

Why is there no Ethnicity based provinces in England/UK ? Ever wondered that , however we got this wonderful Ethnic provinces


Smaller regions with guaranteed budget = Happy People and equal development and prosperity

Pakistan is presently stuck in

a) Family politics (few families with their central basis overseas)
b) Ethnic Provinces
c) Sectarian confusion
d) Budget vanishes to oversea property scandals
