PPP should merge with ANP, MQM

I hope that happens, the only problem is the violent backlash we'll face from the culture.

I've a question for you, sometimes I think about it as well....Do you reckon Pakistan or Pakistanis can genuinely become Center-Leftist or Secular? Because when I take into account the culture, the mindset, the slave like mentality, the violent nature, it just seems impossible.

I don't think the majority of the population can ever be centre of left/secular. I am personally hoping a significant and influential minority can become more liberal and at least move away from the more extreme right wing. Let's not forget that during the early years of Pakistan, the power was held by these liberal/centre of left people. It only takes a united and disciplined minority to force through a change, so who knows?

This is just my view of course, what do you think?

Agreed completely.

But at the same time I am kind of hopeless...don't know where or how it will start?....and even if it does a mere assassination or blasphemy charge will bring ruin. I mean imagine that Salman Taseer got murdered just for *speaking* about rectifying the blasphemy law.

They cannot merge due to their ideologies. MQM is for muhajir, ppp for sindhis, anp for pakhtoons. If they unite, then there will be new parties to serve the same ethnicities.

What they'll do is, see how things work out in 2018 and then form colation gov't. Who knows, maybe pti also form coalation with ppp against pml if there are enough votes. We just have to wait for election result.

let meaningless parties end up seatless

PPP needs one little thing, getting rid of Zardariz and Bhutto phobias. Its a political party, needs political people to take it out of hot waters. Zardari's political games are too good for Nawaz but not that good for its own survival among masses. This time looks like PPP would win less than 10 seats in Punjab and those too would be individually favored results instead of party success. Currently, there is a political vacuum in Sindh and any party that works on the vacuum can get 30-40% support from the province.

I seriously wish MQM was a political party and nothing more. Before PTI took strength in the country, for few months, MQM had tried to expand its footprint in Punjab and rest of the country. But sorry to hear Altaf expects a student like obedience from his supporters and that cannot be offered by everybody. In Karachi, they have to bank on Mahajir slogans to keep their voters to them and that approach too is slipping away. MQM under Altaf Hussain cannot improve neither it can dissipate. It needs divisions and splitting before one of those groups regain its power and usefulness as a political party.

ANP is bunch of bull$hits and so is Moulana Fazal ul Rehman's party. None of them deserve existence on the new canvas of politics. If JI was smart (which unfortunately is not), Fazal's political gimics would've been over. PTI has taken up good part of KPK but who's going to be a second party there is still a question. JUIF, ANP and JI can contest and decide. JI is more sensible out of three and should be taking over the other two.

PTI will fizzle out in 2018 elections? HAHAHAHAHA What a nice joke of the day. For your information I live here in Punjab and I don't see much of PML N supporters. BTW PAT and Musharraf are also ready to contest in 2018 elections so the actual image will be quite different. 2018 Elections will be between PTI, PML N, PPP, PML Q, PAT and Musharraf. If elections are done with Bio-metric Machines than we will see who will actually win

You are right, coming elections would be very different. Next elections would tell us what direction establishment has taken.
Right now all the parties are trying to gain more space in the coming elections by giving good messages to the establishment.
One thing is for sure, now establishment will distanced themselved from extremist parties. If the things go fine Pakistan could come back to pre 1980 position, a normal developing country.

I think establishment should also focus on bringing back the country to pre-1980 position.

What I can see is that after a big dharna regarding rigging in Elections 2013, the ECP of Pakistan is thinking to bring bio-metric machines in upcoming elections so I hope there won't be any rigging that's why I am confused that who will win the elections because now there are so many choices like PPP, PML N, PTI, PAT and Musharraf. 1980 time was one of the best in the history of Pakistan and unfortunately that time a dictator was running the country in a good way.
