PP 160 Polls

Who will you vote?

  • Total voters
    18

I think both PPP and N league assume power with rigging, they are not popular parties and if they need to stay relevant they need ot co-operate with each other and power share is the best way forward.
Give punjab to Sharif family and center with PPPP and next five years Sharif may get center and PPPP will get Sindh and ANP will always vote for anti Pakistan parties.

yes they rig elections jinay vote nahi b banay hotay wo b vote daltay hain :hitwall:

President Zardari phones Nawaz Sharif

LAHORE: President Asif Ali Zardari has telephoned Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif, a private TV channel reported on Wednesday. The two leaders spoke for 15 minutes and exchanged views on the current situation in the country, the channel reported. The authorities vowed to strengthen democracy in the country and agreed to carry on the process of reconciliation among the parties. The president took the PML-N leader into confidence over his speech in Naudero. The leaders aimed to resolve all political and other problems with mutual understanding and cooperation, the channel reported. daily times monitor

Publicising a routine matter on TV and print media mean only to covey message to respective Jialas for voting and supporting each other.

eevry one living around have casted for PTI i hope PTI will win :)

So far all the reports favour PTI ... many traditionally PMLN voters have rebelled ... so much so that their own workers are casting vote for PTI , I hope PMLN is not worried much because they can rig ... they have all the admin under their control

they know all overseas Pakistani's are mature enough to decide who is better for Pakistan, so they won't allow them to vote :disagree:

Which is a crying shame in my opinion; in the alumni meetings me and a few friends from the Pakistani student’s society are always discussing how we can be more active for our ancestral homeland.

This would empower us with the ability to play an active part, just because our parents moved us abroad does not mean we don’t love the country we were born in.

despite 1997 voting lists and.. government controlled rigging N league so far (111 polling station results) managed 20150 and PTI so far at 15390 ... Imagine if they use updated voting lists where will N league stand ...considering PTI has following mainly in youth ... The notion that N league can get a pole elected are over... times have changed

If the voting lists are old than in technical terms they are bogus.
Combined vote of N leaue and PPP which is around 20K may not represent the 20% of total eligible voters of the subject constituency.

^ Any news on the final results? I know PML-N won but what is the vote difference?

OK. The final result (according to PTI website) is as under:

PML-N 27,700
PTI 19,400 approx.

So PTI lost by 7000 votes approx. which is not that bad considering Lahore is the hub of PML-N and its their govt. in Punjab.

P.S lets for a while forget about the rigging part because it doesn't matters now.

That's a pretty healthy vote count for PTI. I like it. Though I am not one of the internet-fans of PTI (I am more PPP) I think it is good that there are parties which can challenge the 'Sharif Juggernaut' in Punjab.
I also think that had the elections been held under very neutral admins then PTI may have even won this race.
2013 elections must be held under neutral caretaker administration and if the Constitution does not allow that then the Constitution needs to be amended. A lot times people in Opposition parties don't bother to come out and vote because, they know, the pro-govt-of-the-day admin will ensure a win. This does not happen all the time--case the 2008 elections--but it DOES happen too often.

The tide is slowly but surely turning!!

Now look at it this way, PTI got 19,432 and JI got 7,957 votes. PML-N's winning candidate bagged 27,798 votes.

So if PML-N got 27, 798 votes in their favour, than they also had 27,389 votes against them which means that people of Lahore are not very happy with their performance in Punjab and PTI will be a threat for them in next general elections!

P.S all above mentioned statistics are from geo tv website.
