Powerful blast rocks Ankara road junction, 'many casualties'

Numerous casualties have been reported as two powerful blasts rocked a road junction in the Turkish capital, Ankara, the local Dogan News Agency reported.
According to local media, the explosion took place near Ankara Central railway station, the busiest in Turkey, which serves 181 trains daily. Several ambulances have been reportedly seen at the scene.

ANKARA

An explosion hit Ankara train station Saturday morning leaving dozens of people dead and injured, according to sources.

An Anadolu Agency correspondent at the scene said there were bodies and wounded people lying in front of the station on Hipodrum Street, where people had started to arrive for a peace rally in Ankara.

Emergency services raced to the scene following the blast at 10.05 a.m. local time (0705GMT).

There was an early claim the blast was caused by a suicide bomber but there was no confirmation.

Many people had gathered outside the station for a demonstration to be held in nearby at Sihhiye Square. The rally, organized by the Confederation of Public Sector Trades' Unions (KESK), was to call for an end to the renewed conflict between the terrorist organization PKK and the Turkish state.

Of course not bro. But I really started thinking that someone is letting it go for his/her personal gains be it any particular group or the government. Boston bombing was well organized. This one clearly is a suicide attack if not IED. Let's see, 24 hours later from now on, national police will raid many places in Ankara and maybe Istanbul. I doubt they could learn all the locations within 24 hours of notice if they were not already designated or under intelligence surveillance. I don't blame MIT, but the ones whom might be aware of it.

We don't think so. Because, the rally was also organized by the pro-Kurdish party in the Parliament. But that doesn't mean it can't be a false flag attack. Let's see and wait for official statements.
