Powerball numbers: Jackpot reaches estimated $1 billion, 2nd largest in history [drawing is on Halloween]

Winning powerball doesn't always positively change lives all winners. Some people have lost everything and came down to where they started. Some people have died. Happiness is almost not guaranteed even if you make good use of money.

**** people. Imagine winning that much money and still trying to live in idaho...

You didn't pay attention to the video. 75% of winners lose their money within 5 years of winning as per this video.

More like leave San Francisco...as if that hasn't been obvious for the last 50+ years.
Looking from Australia that whole country is a violent mess. One should leave soon after winning.

Believe it or not they have that trouble because they aren't self-centered miserly a-holes...

Why do 70 percent of lottery winners end up bankrupt?

It seems difficult to believe: The lucky winners, possibly three, of Wednesday's $1.5 billion Powerball jackpot will probably go bankrupt within five years.

In fact, about 70 percent of people who win a lottery or get a big windfall actually end up broke in a few years, according to the National Endowment for Financial Education.

The biggest problem, several finance advisers agreed, is that lottery winners give away too much money to family and friends.

So to get around your highlighted problem the lottery should tell winners that if any family/friends/charity calls them up to help starving children or some other noble helping humanity issue they should immediately tell them to f@#-off and do something better with their money like hire a top notch tobacco/liquor stocks investment planner, lease Jeffrey Epstein's or Marlon Brando's island, hire 100 local girls as "servants", and live a long planned life of debauchery off the interest.

Powerball jackpot grows to record $1.9 billion as no tickets matched all winning numbers Saturday

I invested a whopping $2 in it, now off to la la land !

I was in about 5 supermarkets today (they sell lottery tickets) and completely forgot about it.

Hmm...maybe when Amazon Go comes to my area I can have it automatically buy me a ticket.🤔

You do not have to be a U.S. citizen or U.S. resident to play Powerball®. Players from jurisdictions where Powerball tickets are not sold, either in the United States or outside the country, when visiting a selling jurisdiction, can purchase Powerball tickets from a retailer licensed or authorized by the selling jurisdiction, if they meet the legal age requirement in the jurisdiction of purchase. Federal and jurisdictional income taxes may apply to any claimed prize money.

could you provide a link to foreign buyer? thank you

The chances are too slim. Buy a small ticket and don't expect a win.
They way I look at it is that there is a mountain of lottery numbers the size of mount Everest sitting in front of you. So you write 6 numbers and what is the chance of you picking those numbers from that mountain in one go.

They specifically don't sell it that way. You can't even call in numbers either. You have to be physically at the machine with the numbers filled out on a special card or you ask the guy to hit the random number generator button ( the quick pick).

Third is doing it on your state lottery website.

I heard there were websites that would serve as intermediaries.....buying tickets on foreigners behave. Honestly not sure how much you can trust them......something tells me a winning would disappear if you relay on an intermediary. I worked at a company where this happened with a group lotto pool. Group pool won a decent amount but the person buying the ticket claimed it was his personal ticket......so the rumors said.
