In one year ?,we"ll know more when a new MPI is released.Which years data that MPI index was showing...
if it is not 2010 it is of no value as poverty in bangladesh has reduced by this time
You didn't understand my first reply to youand on the other hand it has increased in the case of india...
Yes!Even though in the index bangladesh is ahead of india even though it is only 1 position... but if you look at the intensity of MPI poverty you will see the difference... it is 53.5% for india and 50.4% for Bangladesh...
Combining all these accept 1 fact ... inquality between rich and poor is huge and increasing in India....
CIA estimate of India's Gini coefficient was 36.8 ,but since couldn't find recent data ,one can't say its increasing
there are a certain block of rich people which has increaed the per capita gdp but average living standard is much lower... may be lowest in the south asia except afghanistan...
Living standard is a function of quality of life and HDI can be used as a parameter here,as per 2010 HDI reports India is not the lowest in South Asia.
On the other hand look at pakistan and bangladesh... here the difference between rich and poor is not that huge... n peoples are coming out of poverty line quickly... so country is developing evenly unlike india where a certain groups are becoming super rich and most of the people are dirt poor and going below poverty line...
The gini coefficients for Pakistan and Bangladesh are comparatively better than India, but not so far away.
