‘Postmortem’ awaits cricket team on return

LAHORE: Expressing his frustration over national team’s dismal performance, chief selector Iqbal Qasim has said that team’s postmortem will be conducted after the conclusion of Australian tour.

“Chance will be given to new talent in future,” Qasim asserted.

Talking to media here at the Gaddafi stadium on Friday, he said terms and conditions of central contract will be announced soon.

He blamed players for poor showing in the ongoing Australian tour, saying chance will be given to new comers.

He said appointment of the captain is in the jurisdiction of board’s chairman.

The chief selector further said recommendations of Central Contract Committee will be sent to the chairman for approval.

However the CB series (ODI) was won by India.

The first change Pakistan should do is change the pay scale


Openers should get the highest Pay

Captain should be someone who bats 1 Down - so you take charge not hide away in 6th spot or 7th spot....

Bowlers whose averages less then 25 runs with 2 wickets should get
paid more then bowlers who give 30 wides.

Players who take more catches should be given better pay vs players who drop catches (less pay)

Players who cant make 20 runs in 4 consecutive innings should be droped and someone new should get to play

Youis Khan was making 4-5 rus , so he did his average score, Yousif was doing well untill he became captaim then whole team rallied against him ... he was out on 0 too... Openers failed miserably ..20 run openers horrible pair.....

No quality ... 2 times our bowlers allowed us changes and our batsmen failed ....

you talk too big, first look at your own national side bunch of oldies, pakistanis are world T20 champions, i think you should change IPL format in order to sideline pakistanis for your extremist mentality.

Some of the good captains are/were openers as well as some of the good captains are/were bowlers and had nothing to do with bat.

i believe in the players being paid for the runns they score or the wickets they take or for catches. If you drop a catch, you get a pay cut. 30% of their salary should be win bonus. This will sort everything out in no time.

Your thoughts on changes to IPL format is of no consequence to the IPL.

He who pays the Piper Calls the Tune.

IPL can engage who they like, when they like, at whatever price they like.

There is no point for Ministers, Chairmen et al asking for IPL "Deadlines" which have already passed to be renewed so as to accommodate all and sundry.

I believe Pakistan is in the process of starting a Pakistani equivalent or shall we say a competitor to the IPL.

I wish Pakistan the Best of Luck and humbly pray that they not take any Indian Players at all.

Also Pakistan should bar the PCB from sending any Cricket Teams to Indi a or inviting Indian Teams to visit Pakistan.

Why limit it to Cricket. Have a complete "Shutdown" on all Sporting Ties.
