I am under the impression that the rating have been abused by several member.

Personally I don't care about positive or negative rating, but I did see a user got 6 straight negative rating for saying something a think tank member dislike or don't believe in. The person in question did not seems to break any of the forum rules and even a post of "Sure, give me negative rating" got a negative rating itself...

And many of the positive rating given by some member does not worth the thumbs up, mostly those rating are given just because they say what some fellow think tank member want to hear. Not particularly good point or good argument nor even informative

I will see if I can find the example for both, As I said, I don't care about rating so I did not bother to book mark them when I see it.

My negative ratings was taken off by mods cause they were given against the forum rules. but surprising they they reappear again.

Question was there any action taker against the ones abusing the power given or breaking the forum rules?

the post rating thing only good when you have a guideline on how to do it and when to do it, and a proper way to enforce the system so that it cannot be abused.

If people can just rate anything to anything without the enforcement stage then the "Judging" by rating it would negated. Since there are no way to police those rating, that defeat the very reason to rate a given post in the first place.

I personally do not mind any positive rating or negative, but still,

Useless system.

One can see users giving +ve rating to their favorites just for posting a news article or copy pasting some picture. While they are happy with just a thank for real good content belonging to not their fora friend.

These kind of protest can also pressure all of the TTA,TTC, Professionals, etc to do better, and more selective and fair in using their rating power, but in the end the quality of a post can speak by itself.....

Somehow we are here just for a tool to prove to ourselves about our debate and writing skills, thus improve our confident in our real life, and some are here to improve those skills so that they can use it in their real life cases (journalism, university task, work, etc), and some are here to get knowledge and joining with the same pack like them (military and geopolitics enthusiast) which can be considered as a very small and quite elite group that we hardly find in our Facebook friendlist.

So, it is just a tool to study and improve, the best parameter to see our real skill is in our own real life......since I have seen a very good poster who never get any positive rating at all, and I gave him 3 positive ratings in a row yesterday, but honestly, every post that he writes deserve positive rating in my opinion....

@WebMaster @Oscar sir @notorious_eagle has given me a negative rating for the second time for taking up this matter in this thread this is clear violation & abuse of power after all @WebMaster you only created this thread to addressed the issue of wrong post rating, here by members & I get a 2nd negative rating by the same member just for addressing this issue here ! for which this very thread was created , sir ' if this is not abuse of power then please tell me what is
