Possible procurements of Army Aviation (Exclusive Inside News)

I recently talked to my source who's currently busy trying to approve a deal for Pakistan Army Aviation regarding procurements of Combat and logistic helicopters for Pakistan Army Aviation. Deal also includes flight simulators.

According to the limited and unclear information I have, these are the items currently on paper which 'MIGHT' get approved.

Note: I didn't had much time over the phone with my source so some of the company names that I've listed might have spelling errors as I was having some connection problems with my phone service.

1. Procurement of combat and regular flight simulators from 'Richmond and Global' for 35 million$.

2. 100 Million dollar spare parts from a company called 'Spilka' for an undisclosed army vehicle/aircraft.

3. 275 million$ deal with Asean/Aesan International C/O Eurocopter France for Combat helicopters.

4. MI-35 Attack helicopters from KSC LTD C/O Russo and Bruno export co for 150 Million$.

5. Phoenix AW-109 Multi-purpose helicopters for 100 Million Euro's from Eurocopter/Agusta-Westland

Pakistan procuring combat or logistic helicopters isn't a state secret. Besides, this is just one deal. It might get approved, it might not.

Only if US release funds to buy anti terror equipment, US approval is also needed for further out of scope deals. But most probably US wants Pak to buy Cobra and utilize all those fund for the companies those who refurb and equip with different gadgets. Thats what they been doing since last 10 years. Only they allow Pak to buy Russian transport helos, thats it. But hope they allow M135, its A&T helo, non other helo of his class exist right now. But Cobra is Pak army Yamaha 100. They know this machine well. But on the other hand Pak also used for while ex-Afghan MI24, must have back knowledge of this machine. Don't what the opinion of Aviation pilots after riding this Russian work horse. But for sure it tough and rough machine, physically and mechanically, but when it comes to performance, still its Cobra the beatable. As far as AW109, Its extremely stable platform keep its balance even during high winds ,extreme weather conditions, plus very agile. Frequently used in rescue mission, specially extremely rough regions.

IMO this is imprudent to have a duplicate system for a simmilar role.
Why Fennec when Army has American system based Jet Rangers and Cobras for hunter killer team action. Feenac is a combat scout helicopter, and cannot take up the role of an attack helicopter like Cobra. then why to have two different technologies (2 countries, different flying skills, training, logistics etc), for same role.

Similarly why MI-35, a russian though proven system, but again having different technology.

A-109 is totally out of question, why to have Anglo Italian technology when we have Bell 412 for the same role.
My point,
get more Cobras, for attack role, Bell412 for SAR, utility roles and MI-17 for transport role, if really required. we already have these machines and a well placed, matured training and logistics system in place. Now, it is understood, as these machines are procured, they have to be directly sholved into battle zone, without a delay. so its better to have a system , 'We are already Hands On' :azn:

The problems with that, as suggested by US officials, may be that that the Cobra is not in production anymore, and additional units for Pakistan have to first be located and then refurbished.

This may be too long of a delay for Pakistan given the urgency in meeting shortfall in combating the insurgency, and perhaps that is the reason to look elsewhere?

Agno american aid is like walmart give certificate ...u have to use at walmart and meet all condition of walmart. Otherwise .....wish American allow us to select other weapon from west

I believe you're referring to the AS-350 Ecureuil. The AS-350's were bought for VIP transport which was previously being done by the SA-330 'VIP' version Puma. Along with providing VIP transports, they're also being used for high altitude missions in terrains like Siachen. They'll replace our aging fleet of Lama's hopefully. We need a new platform for high altitude missions and the Ecureuil is the best helicopter in our fleet for that right now.

The Ecureuil's weren't bought for combat missions. You can't compare them with the Cobra helicopters which are dedicated combat helicopters.

For the same reasons why we've had MI-8's and MI-17's in our fleet since the start. We're quite familiar with the Russian technology. Getting the MI-35 wouldn't be a problem for us to handle. Besides, we've already had an MI-24 in our inventory which was refurbished and flown several times before it was decommissioned. Experience on that bird would surely help us in future IF we procure the MI-35's.

When your primary buyer denies you equipment, you look for other options. Modernizing the fleet requires tough decisions. By that definition, we shouldn't get the J-10 for the Air Force because we're experienced with the American birds.

We have Fennecs because they are the ultimate platforms when it comes to high altitude operations in Siachen and northern areas (high altitude ceiling is what it affords). None of the others perform as well. The Indians put out a tender and the Fennec won there as well eventhough they are re-doing it.

Its just not possible to have one type for everything. Lamas and Allouettes are pretty much coming to the end of their lives.

AH1F is in use with a LOT of countries still. Parts and frames shouldn't be an elusive mysterious question. I rather doubt that somebody woke up last week and said,

"Hmmm...we ought to look into spare frames and parts for cobras on the cheap."

I'm not hip to the story nor am I an aviator but it can't be that complicated to understand what's on the table, cost, and how long to upgrade/deliver...

...or maybe it is.

Some days ago, I have also met a news which mentioned about a flight simulator request of Pakistan but According to related news, Turkish Havelsan will supply full flight simulator to Pakistan. I do not know If that news are certainy reflect the truths but I will search it again now....

PA made urgent request for more Cobra and parts. So, its a rush rush situation. If not then look for excessive inventory of any western country. Two products are helping Pak to fight terror helos and drones.

S2 do US National Air Guard/National Guard use cobra's?? If so then perhapse we could just get out of this very tricky situation we are in now...

2) Pakistan has exported APC Talha Qty- 44 and Security Vehicles Al Mohafiz Qty- 60 and Armoured Guard Post Qty- 300 and ammunition to Iraq for 88m$, so 100 million dollar spare parts seems to be on high side.

3) T-129 gunship helicopter?

4) any idea about the number involved?

5)if I am not wrong these will be for VIP purposes
