Possible PLAAF counter to MKI

Su-30 MKI is the backbone of IAF now and its main capabilities relies on R-77 and R-73 AAMs.

Now both of these missiles are in China's inventory for years. So this could be very much possible that many of the jammers and other EW systems developed to counter R-77 and R-73. That means our mainstay of attack is under threat even before the war starts.

Here comes the importance of Astra.

BTW Astra is also known to have russian seekers too which is used in R 77 missiles

p.S electronic jamming has nothing do with IR guided missiles like R 73 it can be countered by flares/ DIRCM
