say for the fun of it you get one . then what ? it will take you 3 yrs to train and get familiar with the systems . what are you going to do next? one sub will in no way stop the IN . and what happens to the trained crew you have ,once you return the sub? and operating it is not exactly cheap . you need to build an infrastructure for it especially . existing one for diesel subs wont do .

so i ask you again whats the use of getting this sub? just cuz we got one?

Big question is how much Pakistan can afford with defence budget of $ 5.75 Billion majority of which is spent in maintaining an army 1/2 the size of that India but 1/10 of the economy of India.

precisely the point i was trying to make . when you can do that with a diesel sub , why a nuke?
also the last time the PNS Gazi was active against us was in 71 . we had no anti sub aircrafts . things are slightly different now.

I think if PN has decided in 2000's for joint development of SSK's as well as SSBN submarines than it will be much more beneficial for us as we want to have much more bigger fleet of submarines than surface combatants as they are stealthy and can not be esily detected. Other than that they should have upgraded the Agosta-70 with the same electronics and weapons suite like the Agosta-90Bs have which will provide some extra power like in Arabian sea and the new ones will going to take care of the outer sea's.

Who told you we are afraid of you, all our defence preparedness is against China and regional ambitions and Pakistan is no more than a nuisance to us. Why do we need three Aircraft carriers or 5000km range missiles against tiny Pakistan.
