Poor vision, lack of seriousness stonewalling Army modernisation

.
Why you are comparing with US soldier. US defence budget is above 600 billion $.
In Indian army modernization can not be done in some years. We are limited to our budget. That's true our government is corrupt and we can do better in same budget but still, it ll take more then 10 years.
You people can see the modernization in special forces and India also buying small weapons etc.

Listen buddy that 600 billion is used to for vaiorus big tickets items inlcuding pensions and salaries. Uniform and suppies are the mainstay of any military. Not giving our soldiers proper helmets, uniforms, boots, guns, gloves and kneepads is not a joke but a f-ing disgrace.

.
Helmet, gloove, knee pad, boots, guns are the basic need of an armed force. You don't have any excuse for short supply of it.

There is no excuse. We have the brainpower, the manufacturing ability, the money.......the only issue is CORRUPTION so bad it is eating away the very soul of India.

Why cant the Army give the private sector more chances to prove itself???

Look at these Indian companies which deliver their equipment even to the USA

. . . .
Come on. Why compare the IA to the US army? Does India spend >$1 TRILLION USD per year on defence?!! What nonsense is this?

Give the IA some effing time FFS. After the F-INSAS program is in place them feel free to criticise but why do so before the project is even implemented?!

Sometimes it seems the media just like to attack for the sake of it. I remember similar comparisons and images were drawn up post 26/11 and the media said the situation would never change but now look at the NSG a few years down the road- as well equipped as any of their contemperies.

rather than spending billions on aircraft carriers we should concentrate more on ground troops.

No doubt we need to speed up our army modernization, but i want to point out some things:

1.Pathakas aren't the standard issue head gear of IA. Its mainly used foe Counter Insurgency ops where its performance is highly praised. Infact Kevlar Pathakas are also in service which offers bullet proof protection.

The PATKA are available for Soldiers and Officers. Having protection for 9 mm at rear from 10 mtrs. And from 25 mtrc. AK47 or SLR at forehead. The weight of PATKA will be approx. 1.4 kg to 1.7 kg.

2.Issueing of Thermal/Night scopes for every soldier isn't neccessary. In India every soldiers gets trained to use and service them and those who are in the special forces and in forward areas get them. However it'll be good if every one gets it as standard issue.

3.Bullet proof with plates offer superior protection though it hampers movement, doesn't cover all parts etc.

4.INSAS isn't a futurustic rifle and needs to be changed eventually, however there is no denial that its a good, versatile and accurate and reliable gun.

Insas rifle is based on traditional degin, It fires 5.56 ss109 bullets which have extended range to 500m, It can shred a BP of Lev3 at ranges over 200m, the rifle feed by 22rnd mag, its semi and burst, Their are accessories for the rifle like laser, Scopes, UBGL,Bayonet..

5.Even after being issued a lot of personnel ,including the special forces guys won't wear gloves.

6.Agree with close combat sight, knee pad and new boots.
