Empires come and go, civilisations do not. Chinese and Indians are some of the oldest continuously living civilizations. They used to dominate world GDP 200 years ago. Only to be taken over by West for next 100 years. But will soon get back to their historical positions.

Islam is still here and soon will be the biggest religion of the planet. Indias GDP was the highest under Muslim rule btw. Mongols also didn't cease to exist, but you can see their state today.

Yes because those initial muslims were companions of the Prophet SAW and the best among men. They set an example for the world. Allah made an example, showing if u have imaan like these men, Allah can make u stronger than superpowers in no time.
Later any leader who been strong in imaan have achieved big things. Eg umar bin abdul aziz, sultan salahuddin, sultan mehmet, mahmud ghaznavi, ahmad shah abdali etc.

People really need to understand that the Pakistani polity is already cracked up along ethnic/regional patterns. Even a causal voting patterns expose this. It is no point in living in denial. This reality has to be taken in and then studied to what can be done to move forward. Lessons need to be drawn. Debial will only lead to something big happening in the future. If any of you have read history of Bangladesh you will know trouble first manifested itself when Bengali's began voting along clear ethnic lines. Mujib Rehman became the Bengali voice.

I am not in denial about Ethnic vote bank or leaning of different ethnicities and i always believed that we have a diversity to cherish. I believe the ethnic card is exploited when federal governments fail to address certain issues in provinces.

To address such issues, we would always need a unique idea which may unite people together. Unfortunately, all our political parties have some kind of ethnic agenda which is why they are elected in their respective areas.

This is exactly what I thought. Owning the past does not make us less Muslim then Egyptians, Turks, Iranians owning their past makes them any less Muslim. Our issue is not about Islam althought that will be cited.

The reasons are deeper. If I was a migrant from Bihar to Pakistan I would be alarmed if Ahmad Shah Abdali is touted, if I was a Lucknawi migrant I would be alarmed if Porus was peddled, if I was a Bhopali migrant living in Karachi I would be alarmed if Talpurs are celebrated. Instead I would cry "Islam under threat".

This is why such things are not possible in Pakistan and the country will remain a identitless begger tring to be a Turk one day, a Arab the next and then falling back on desi Muslim Bollywood variety.

Islam will always fail to be a solution if people do not believe in it as a solution.

Many of those on this thread point to the fratricidal dissolution of Muslim empires and triumphantly hold it as an example of why Islam fails to glue together a society or empire or country. Such posters are tolerated from the other side a lot more frequently than him. Dozens upon dozens of threads are still present on the forum. I am not naive to what either of you is up to.
