Pakistan football tour to Bangladesh cancelled
August 13 2013
Staff Report
KARACHI: Pakistans friendly tour to Bangladesh has been called off abruptly by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF). The BFF has informed its Pakistani counterpart that it would not be able to host the Pakistan team due to political unrest in the capital, Dhaka. The national squad were scheduled to play two friendlies on August 12 and 17 in preparation for the upcoming South Asian Football Federation Championship.
The BFF, however, requested the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) to reschedule the tour due to strikes by Islamist parties in Dhaka planned for August 13 and 14. A PFF spokesman, talking to a local newspaper, said that the team would continue training in Lahore for the tour to Afghanistan scheduled for August 20. We cant give them another date for this month, he said. We can have friendly matches with Bangladesh next year, maybe, he added.
