OK, thats kind of sarcastic stuff from Mir Saheb. It says:

He chose to remove the beard (khat) that he had
Now I look at his face, and can’t really see the words of Qur’an

Actually in Mir's time, Muslim men would normally sport beard and clean-shaved Muslims were uncommon sighting and it was considered uncultured and un-Islamic. So it seems that Mir Saheb got to see some shaved Muslim and he said the above words.
