MSPO 2013: Polish company confirms deliveries of RIBs to Pakistan special forces

Remigiusz Wilk, Kielce - IHS Jane's Defence Weekly
5 September 2013

Polish company Techno Marine revealed at MSPO 2013 that it has been delivering high-speed boats to the Pakistan Special Service Group Navy - SSG(N).

About 30 Techno Marine SOF Thunder TM-1025 rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) have been delivered in three batches to the SSG(N) to date, a company representative disclosed at the international defence industry exhibition.

Techno Marine is a designer and manufacturer of high-speed RIBs of 7-16 m in length. The SOF Thunder TM-1025 is a 10.5-m length high-speed boat able to carry 12-16 people, powered by two 250 hp engines with a 50 kt maximum speed.

It is sad we didn't build them at home, we could have!!
Also if inducted in the number as given by above report, ie 30 boats, it was not a small order at all. Should have built them at home and equipped these with a 12.7mm gun and may be also rocket launcher!

In the company pics, it carries a 7,62mm gpmg. Other RiBs in this class are known to carry 0.50 HMG. Why wouldn't this RiB not be able to do so? Different matter is whether PN marines and SOF will want to use it with a 0.50....

Cool, but I think the PN should have bought it is a larger batch just to get the ToT on it.

Initially contracted in 2009-10; Techno Marine Polish RHIBS are being used by the NSSG and can be seen mostly parked at the Jinnah Naval Base. Though delivery or contract of 30 boats is not true, however currently the Navy is using around 10 odd units for the purpose of NSSG sea faring and VBSS roles. The initial quantity of RHIBS purchased had rigid seats that were really uncomfortable for the NSSG soldiers when at high seas. Most NSSG soldiers complained of severe back pain. The new lot is equipped with shock proof seats that allow a more comfortable ride. All boats have fornt end pintles that can fit either a 7.62 LMG or (at the cost of space and weight) a 50 caliber Chinese HMG. Overall the boats performance for the Navy remains satisfactory

the pic of RIB is of navy seals delivered during 1997-2004. they now use an advanced derivative of this boat. forget about ToT of this boat it will be very difficult for PN to manage a ride on it, US banned the sale of these boats to any country. but they had given this to british SBS and australian SASR.
