it is unbelievable how people dont hold Khadim Rizvi responsible for this mess but govt's refusal to sacrifice their minister who has done nothing to provoke such a step. this would have set such a wrong precedent that a few 100 people could come out and demand anyone's resignition because their actions did not appeal to their sensibilities.

Blocking the main artery of a capital is not the definition of a peaceful protest. Ask any Rawalpindi Islamabad resident that has to travel between the cities for job or education and you'll know how he/she felt about this peaceful protest. If they were sitting in D-Chowk I would have no problem whatsoever in accepting it as a peaceful protest and their democratic right.

Every city is shut down around 6000 Dharna Guys in Islamabad and Islamabad as for now under their control. Army was called last night but it seem they are refusing to come in. They don't want to be seen standing with Government on this issue. So situation is bad really bad

one police man accidentally got killed after getting hit in the head with a rock. that too after they stormed the area of protest and attacked them and burned their belongings.
dont forget the protest is happening in pakistan these guys could easily burn down the whole city in islamabad and couldve gotten real guns instead of sticks and stones but they didnt. that should tell you something...
these coward cops couldve easily have been in a worst situation but these protestors are not here for that.

Chitrol is meaningless, I mean the chitrol they get in the madersa's is way beyond anything the forces can do. What they need is a swift, massive crackdown for arrest of all involved even if they have to be held in a makeshift jail. They should be treated just as harshly as they treated the citizens of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The writ of the Government should be established at all costs.

I am confused, however, as on the one side the Islamabad High Court deems these as terrorists with ulterior motives and yet the Army Chief wants an amicable solution. How does one move towards an amicable solution when there is no issue, especially with those who are working on hidden agendas??? And when the Government finally requested Military assistance, the military, while not denying assistance, has sent a long list of legal challenges in deployment of 111 Brigade......as if legal requirements have ever stopped them from moving in before.
