Police Station in Wana Overwhelmed by a Cross-Border TTP Attack

.
Mexican drug cartels are worth billion of dollars and have technologies like submarines at their disposal. You are comparing them with Terrorists operating of Pak-Afg border which is not a good comparison. Tell me how many times did Mexican gangs crossed order in dozens, attacked US border patrol stations or police stations 20 km away from border, took all the weapons and went back safe and sound. ???

1) If the cartels have billions (much more than the TTP), the US has trillions (much more than us). So this balances things, making my comparison both viable and reasonable. Think a bit more before typing :)

2) The Talibs may not have the money, but they know every tunnel and nook of the mountain ranges there. Terrain advantage matters. The US-Mexico border is composed of much gentler geography. Mountain ranges are extremely difficult to secure, even by superpowers.

3) Ethnic and ideological affiliations. If the southern US was composed almost entirely of actual Mexicans who shared the ideology of the cartels, things would get even worse over there.

4) Your initial point was about crossing borders, not specifically about attacking police stations. The cartels do it to sell drugs; terrorists do it to attack targets; they still do it! Drugs and guns make it into even the strictest European countries. Some stuff is just hard to stop.

Your initial point was about crossing borders, not specifically about attacking police stations.

Their act of crossing border is an issue but not a major one if it is competing with attacking neighboring country police stations 20 km deep. Bhai you all are all knowing, ham logo KP Kuch ni pta.

What a stup*d person you are.
Acting tuff online like you wouldn’t surrender.

They’re POLICE and around 15 in total who were facing off 60 terrorists who were armed with heavy weapons. Why can’t you brainwashed self understand this? They had no chance since the first shot was fired. POLICE don’t have such heavy weaponry. I just common sense isn’t so common nowadays.

And as for casualties, 2 police jawans were martyred.

Their surrendering saved 15 people from losing their lives in a fight they lost the moment the first shot was fired. For arm chair generals like you it’s easy to send jawans to the gallows. What’s a couple men with aks gonna do against 60 terrorists armed with heavy machine guns, rpgs, night vision etc. They were outgunned and outmatched. The SHO of that police station had common sense and a brain which you see to lack.

And all this yapping about kpk police training, these police officers have the most balls in the whole country. Let’s see how sindh police or Punjab police fair against even attackers equipped on par with them. We seen Punjab police’s bravery against protesters armed with rocks. You don’t even have 1% if the guts these police officers have because even joining the police in such areas puts them on ttp hit list and then and their families get assassinated. These guys are the bravest of brave. Learn to respect them and stfu with your stup*d a*s analysis.

Beghairt insaan.
I like to see how you fair being outnumbered 4:1 against heavy weapons while you’re poorly equipped.

I think Pakistan should give a full functional airbase on the Pak Afghan border. Border security is totally failed.
Pakistan shouldn't give airbases, they should carry it out themselves if they want to.

Firstly Afghans use airbases as a way to legitimise their holy jihad narrative against us. The record must be set straight that we are retaliating against their double games of spreading terror.

Amrekans can covertly provide intelligence and give us the funding needed.

.

First Chaman, then Bannu and now Wana.
Is the situation so hopeless that the terrorists were able to come in 20kms inside Pak territory, across the fence with Heavy MGs and RPGs, undetected; initiate an intense firefight in which the police surrendered and the terrorists easily looted the armoury? And throughout this attack no QRF reached and even more so, the terrorists were able to exfiltrate.
I think we should stop calling these incidents as just a terrorist attack and instead label them as "Surgical Strikes". At this pace India doesn't need to do anything on the eastern front.
Generals were resting ...f pakistan. Why should they care

Heavily-armed militants stormed a police station in Wana town of South Waziristan district early on Tuesday leaving one police official injured in the attack.

One terrorist was also killed during an exchange of fire between the militants, reportedly belonging to the banned TTP, and police officials. The body was transported to the Frontier Corps (FC) camp where it remains under the custody of security forces.

Being outgunned and outnumbered, reportedly all police personnel surrendered. The militants then proceeded to loot all weapons and ammunition at the station and fled taking police vehicles.

According to police, the attackers numbered between 50 to 60 and were armed with rocket-propelled grenades, machine guns, and other small arms.

The militants first attacked the police station with RPGs, hand grenades, and other light weapons. Once the gate was breached, they entered the premises forcing the police officials to surrender.

Security forces have reportedly begun preparations for a search operation and have initiated an investigation into the incident. Fear has spread among the locals after the attack.

It may be noted that in November the TTP had said that they had called off a ceasefire agreed with the federal government in June and ordered its militants to stage terrorist attacks across the country, a statement from the banned terror outfit said.

The TTP, a separate entity from the Taliban in Afghanistan but sharing a similar hardline ideology, have been responsible for hundreds of attacks and thousands of deaths since emerging in 2007.

Do you guys have more footage of the battle?

Those must be some tough police there! That place would need something like a Gendarmiere or Rangers backed by local pro-Government militias to fight against the barbarians.

Some members here putting blame on PTI and police..

Manning Borders, fighting hardcore terrorists in big numbers armed with RPGs and other heavy weapons. All of the blame shouldn't be shifted to provincial govt, intelligence agencies should be able to pre empt plus how can terrorists in big numbers armed to teeth can be allowed to cross with Military manning borders?

People like you should be handed over to TTP to be used for bacha bazi….
Your idiotic comments are an insult to the common sense…

Full admiration to these brave policemen you don’t really sign up for this. Clearing up army’s past mess still haunting us usa drones killing mehsuds villages. You reap what you sow.

Didn’t USA keep matters under control in Afghanistan ?

USA is now offering help to Pakistan regarding these incidents.
ultay ho keh juk keh jaana abba amrikay keh samnay and use protection!

Ye itny ziada terrorists itny routinely border cross kaisy Kar rahy Hy ?

KPK ki government incompetent hoge or CM b to Lahore beta Hy warna to ye border manage krna to KP government ki duty Hy ...

@Irfan Baloch , @Mrc

Surprise surprise. This was totally unexpected after the Americans, NATO and India left their Afghan headquarters in a sour mood.

Pakistan army should have sealed the border before the Americans and not built a fence. Pakistan is being challenged by Indian sponsored terrorists and these terrorists are running amok our everywhere.

Don't say this too loud. Papa America might get angry and the Pak army along with them.
