I never claimed that angry mobs would not form. However, the blasphemy law works as an incentive for scumbag clerics. They can literally claim any minority committed blasphemy and thus angry mobs would form and later on charges against the innocent minority citizens would be pressed. But it was not the legal system which saved this Christian couple but instead was the police. The legal system has punished thousands of innocent minority citizens such as Asia bibi. I can't believe in 2015, Pakistan still has a functioning blasphemy law. I hope the US and EU can put some sanctions on Pakistan and remove their GSP status until Pakistan makes improvements in its treatment of minorities.

The Police is what enforces the legal system. It was the legal system. Do you realize that the cleric who was arrested was arrested under the part of the legal system that declares incitement to violence illegal?

You expect too much morality of them. They can put sanctions whenever they want to, but they will only do so when it serves their interests. They couldn't care less about minorities or human rights. And you people need to stop pretending they care.

There is no way for foreign powers to enforce tolerance or reforms. They must come from within. And they will. Just give it some time.

In Pakistan police do save minorities unlike India where police help ko kill thousands of Muslims in Gujrat under govt supervision.
