Is alcohol completely prohibited in Pakistan, even in fancy hotels for example?

Marriott Islamabad has plenty of everything and then PC and many top end restaurants in Lahore and elsewhere across Pakistan serve booze also. I've spent time in those two hotels so its always fun to enjoy good Whiskey if you like that stuff. I think people in Pakistan drink too, I've met plenty of businessmen, etc at these places and even families too. I think its more common in the bigger cities like Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad than the rest of the country.

If you ever go there, there is a Pakistani brewery too and their Beer isn't bad either. Slightly different tasting than the American beer but still a good product . Pakistan isn't as as* backwards as people thing. Its more populated but its like going to Dubai but with much more people, if you plan on staying around big cities.
