Police recovered ‘massive’ quantity of alcohol

LAHORE: On special directives, the police arrested six people near Qila Gujjar Singh on Sunday and recovered a massive quantity of alcohol from their possession.

The accused – Usama, Ashraf, Waqas, Tanzim, Shoaib and Shahid – were arrested and 100 liquor bottles of different brands, measuring up to about 500 litres of alcohol, were recovered from their possession.

An FIR has been registered and further investigations were underway.

Its not prohibited for religious minorities, and is available in the posher hotels (PC for example). AFAIK however only designated shops are allowed to sell legally, though there is a huge black market catering for the Muslim drinkers.
