RAE BARELI: L K Advani's attempt to distance himself from the Babri demoliton got a jolt on Friday, with Anju Gupta, senior IPS officer and an eyewitness of the destruction at Ayodhya on December 6, 1992, accusing the BJP veteran of delivering a provocative speech to the throng of kar sevaks who eventually tore down the mosque.

The IPS officer also did not support Advani's claims that the demolition saddened him and that he had tried to restrain kar sevaks from bringing down the mosque.

Gupta's testimony in the special CBI court here trying the Babri accused is significant because she, as Advani's Personal Security Officer, was supposed to shadow him in Ayodhya and can claim to have seen and heard actions and utterances of the saffron stalwart on the eventful day.

The IPS officer said that Advani delivered a `bahut joshila' (highlyinflammatory) speech, adding that ``his address generated much excitement" in the crowd. The leader declared that Ram Mandir will be constructed on the same 2.77 acre land. "`Mandir wahin banega', Advani repeated the statement a number of times,'' she said.

Gupta had given a detailed account of actions of Advani and his colleagues to the court earlier also.

``The sight of the structure crashing down led to much euphoria among the dignatories present on the dais of the Ram Katha Manch. I saw sweets being distributed, people congratulating and embracing each other,'' Gupta said.

She continued, ``The Ram Katha Manch, actually a single-storied building 150-170 metres away from the disputed structure, was a beehive of activity. Among the people who flitted in and out, I could recognise apart from Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Vishnu Hari Dalmia, Vinay Katiyar, Uma Bharati, Sadhvi Rithambhara, Acharya Dharmendra Dev and Shrish Chand Dixit.''

According to the officer, it was she who told Advani that a crowd had broken in and was demolishing the structure, and that a number of people had fallen off the dome and were critically injured.

``Reports of kar sevaks being injured upset Advani. He demanded to be led to the site so that he could persuade kar sevaks to come down. Advised against this, Advani dropped the idea and deputed Uma Bharati instead,'' she said.

The officer also accused other leaders of BJP/VHP combine -- Vinay Katiyar, Uma Bharti, Sadhvi Rithambhara -- of making provocative speeches.

The destruction of the Babri Masjid was an unfortunate incident but it is nothing compared to the number of temples destroyed by muslim rulers in India over a period of a few hundred years. The babri Masjid itself was made by destroying a temple which was present over there.

Any source to back your claim?

The team from ASI who were given the job to look into the case had concluded that there was indeed a temple that predated the mosque by a 1000 years atleast.

I was asking about a source. You seem to be the only source.:lol:

Destruction of the masjid was a shame. Advani should face the full flak of the law if he is found responsible for initiating the demolition of the mosque whether there was previously a temple on that site or not. Those allegedly responsible for the destruction of the temple cannot be accounted for or brought to justice since it allegedly happened hundreds of years ago. Those responsible for the destruction of the mosque degraded our secular constitution, the rights of the largest minority group in our country and the establishment of a place of worship. They have neither the right to call themselves proud Indians or proud Hindus. They made a mockery of the ideals of both India and Hinduism with their actions. They are a disgrace and should be punished without any hesitation.

Most probaby Advani will be dead by the time he is convicted by the court:bounce::chilli:

Indian judiciary REVIEW:

Every country has its up's and down's. But one thing present in both countries is the lack of accountability. Its not an indian or pakistani thing. Someone said that a temple was destroyed to make a mosque so it is fine to do that again and throw the 400 years of civilization and harmony that was gathered in that time. Animals. Same animals destroyed the buddhist artifacts in afghanistan. You just cannot reason with these people. They are a waste of space in this day and age and should be taken care of without any remorse.

usually trials on political persons takes too much time...because they heir top most lawyers.... and these lawyers do stretch trail for a long period... just by engaging the court for reason or 2...

indian laws are very flexible that it seems there is solution for every problem....

secondly, with population rise the burden on jurisdiction is very high..
as for a very long time courts and no. of judges remain same....

but Every citizen have faith on indian jurisdiction....

it has been seen that indian courts do not want to give dicisions in hurry on sensitive issues for examples religious issues...
