A police cop was killed by suspected militants in Handwara area on Saturday, and his body was left in forest.
Police spokesman told Kashmir Life that Sannaullah Zargar son of Abdul Gani Zargar, was a resident of Hardona village in Vilgam area had gone to his home on leave where he was killed.
Head Constable Sannullahs throat was slit open by the militants, the spokesman added.
Vilgam, is a remote village in district Kupwara, some 22 kms from the district headquarter.
According to locals, 40 years old Sannaullah had gone to the nearby forest where he was killed by unknown people.
