I agree, Church should have asked for the birth certificate for age verification of the bride and the groom.

Some people are really desperate to throw mud on Churches.. I clearly said child marriage shouldn't be encouraged. Child marriages are quite common in rural areas.. be it in church or temple or Muslims.. instead these guys trying to blame church... using every possible incident to blame... they don't like my response because of my personal believes...

I'm all for abolishing the practice of getting married in Temples of Church, until they receive the marriage certificate from Court, after that they can get married in temples or church or home for ceremonial purposes.

In Andhra Cops and child welfare depart etc doing their best to stop child marriage... it happens in every religion .... by accusing church you can't stop anything... because it's the parents and circumstances in their family ... Pastor may not be aware of girl age .. yet some people trying hard their best.... and they won't speak if it happened in temples... pathetic people...

ranjeet makes news posts and threads with the wordings suiting his sanghi agenda and that is what he was doing in this thread... he didn't mention the marriages of hindu children ( actual children who are aged below 13 ) in places like rajasthan and madhya pradesh and he turns this thread into a outrageous crime in the paradisal india where no crime and injustice occurs.

what you are doing is talking about a assumed moralistic crime ( marriage of the 17-year-old girl in the op ) to avoid condemning a real crime ( "honor killing" and the suicides created by india's socio-economic system ).
