Police arrest couple for ‘kissing, cuddling’ in Islamabad

.
Police have yet to arrest any pirs who engage in sexual abuse of young women in trying to “cure” them.
Sadly many of the same type of blind religiosity that gives their daughters, wives and sisters to such pirs is also first to stand up against “vulgarity”.

Yes, the kids should not be kissing in public but frankly since they cant marry at that age due to the financial and social norms of society and not everyone is interested in trying to sit in itekaf in masajid(many that were forced to are either found in chaklas or blow themselves up); such cases are where a slap on the wrist and letting the parents know is enough.

Parental guidance and not police or idiotic self proclaimed religious police along with many Allah’s messenger and judgment Pakistanis that make up a dangerous section of the population.

The fault isnt “western” vulgarity or other idiotic concepts, its lack of parental control and guidance, lack of involvement of parents in lives and lack of educational institutional discipline.

I see a lot of angry people here .. seems like they want to kiss their wives in Public, probably make out to ? RIP to the Ethics and Moral Values

Pakistan is an Islamic state and such vulgarity is not allowed openly in the society, that is also cultural issue.
Those who are supporting it will dare to support same for their mothers, wives, sisters, and daughters? Those who are comfortable with could carry on support.
what is "vulgar" about kissing?

you don't think your mother ever kissed your father? i have bad news for you, wait until you find out what your parents did to have you...

you don't have to wish the same for your family to believe people should have the choice to do it or not... stupid oppressive narrative doesn't work anymore, keep your lifestyle to yourself and stop ruining everyone else's life

There is nothing vulgar in kissing when a married couple do it in privacy and every mentally mature person knows that. Here the issue is seems that you have some comprehension issue.

You should also understand that you are result of sexual copulation of your parents, I anticipate that it happened in privacy. I also anticipate that you will advocate such relation only in privacy. On roads, this behaviour known as inhuman and animalistic. Further does not have a healthy affect on society and culture.

I wish good for all human and particularly for Muslims, the good instincts are from within of every human.
Nothing is forced in Islam, you don't like it leave it aside take the path which you like.
I don't want to discuss such things which are taught us 1400 years ago. If you want to learn go ahead, if you do not, leave it aside. Choice is yours. There is nothing oppressive and nothing will ruin anyone's life but make ones life healthy and happy - cheers.

My parents loved and still love me plenty, but the fact that you raise this as a point reveals to me some very deep problems you might have.

If they do, it is their choice. Morality and ethics cannot be forced or enforced especially when its not a public charge.
Kissing is not a financial or criminal offense in common law nor is it expressively talked about in the Quran(beating is though). Ensuring morality is and decency is which is incumbent upon the individual themselves and no other.

But.
What matters is collective laws agreed upon by people. So if displays of public affection are outlawed by Pakistan then the kids are in violation. Just as visiting Israel is. If one does not agree with this, they can leave Pakistan(and many do happily to never look back). For those who are incapable of leaving Pakistan they can either make attempts to get the laws changed or follow them; Be it laws against vulgarity or money laundering.

What matters is priority of police presence. Turkey is a great example of prioritizing crime issues and of how the society values a person rather than collective justice. You will have couples sometimes engaging in public displays of affection and then someone will reprimand them politely... but more often than not people ignore them or ar maximum because they are not answerable for the other person. They even have prostitution legalized but that doesn’t lead to any less adherence to Islam and in my view the muslims there are ten fold better in following Quran and sunnah than any Maulana Fazlur rehman and their kin.

In Turkey you will have one sister in a hijab at the beach and the other in a bikini. Neither is discriminated against because people live their own lives. Something Pakistanis are inherintly incapable of. Even supporting corrupt people has the taint of Pakistani values regarding the lives of everyone other than themselves.

When you actively suppress something in society without offerring an equally attractive alternative; you will only find that action growing.
These kids have influences not from western society but from Indian movies, if we cannot offer them alternatives to sexual curiosity and offer them ways to connect with the opposite sex beyond sexuality; then they will like the generations before them and even during ancient Arabia turn to affection and pleasure wherever they find it.
Moreover, when their own parents arent aware enough of their children; then the effects will play out even more.

I wasn’t allowed to use a telephone until 15 years and every use of the television was monitored. I watched James bond because him bedding every other woman was part of an “alien” culture and “alien” language; but all Indian movies were forbidden. Because those have similar cultural tinge to ours but don’t display the morality we wish to espouse.

As an example, during my high school there were plenty of Hollywood teen romance pictures out but you never saw more than two or three “couples”.. but come that Indian trash called Mohabattien.. and suddenly everyone was romeo.

we don't kiss our Wife or Girlfriend in Open Public places .. its against our culture , societal norms , ethics and Religion .
The bold are 90% and the rest 10%

It is their Right, but is it RIGHT to do it out in Public ? just because you have freedom to do what you want does not mean you should do it .. and for Quran , if you are expecting Creator to mention those puny problems in his last revelation to mankind than i guess you are completely ignorant of the book and its message itself ( no offense ) .
Pakistan is not run on Sharia , but in a society like Medina Ethics and Morality was not enforced but People despite having their freedom were not allowed to do whatever they want .. Societies are not build over Individual values but its a collective of people where you have to understand that any act that threaten the values of any society must be stopped by the state ..

that was my point , just because i don't like a certain law doesn't mean the LAW should not exist .. you gotta respect the law and other people , and let me tell you from my own personal experience i have seen more than kissing in Parks and Zero point of Karachi .. but no families go there

Turkey is indeed a good example here, but it depends on how you understand Islam , as Reza Aslan says if you are a Violent person than you have plenty of material in Quran to justify Violence but if you are non Violent non hater you will find plenty for you . The Idea of that its not my place to judge or its their sin their grave , can work in some place but not in others ... People could literally say this to Abu Bakr RA or Omar ibn Khattab that who are you rule us or judge us for whatever we do ? When you are in a Society your personal preference matters less but you gotta see what is good or bad for the Collective Society .. and that is what Islam is about who thinks Muslims as a single body .

Its a bit complicated, i am personally not a fan of Bikini nor i believe that a girl needs a two piece underwear or bra to swim or enjoy , the purpose of Bikini is more about Showing off body than it has anything to do with enjoying or swimming .. what others do is their matter but it all comes to collective society , if in a Hypothetical Islamic society some women suddenly start wearing bikini and state do nothing , than it will encourage other women to follow their suites. as they say in Urdu " Kharbooze ko dekh ker Kharbooza rang pakerta hai " .

When you actively suppress something in society without offerring an equally attractive alternative; you will only find that action growing.

in this particular case, there is an alternative way, you want to kiss your wife get back to your home or rent a hotel room to do so .. no one is stopping you to kiss or make out , people are asking you that they don't want others to see kissing , cause everyone has their own rights , you cant just make out in beach as their are kids there for whom it would be inappropriate to watch such things , and for 10 people who are kissing on beach i wont ask 1000 people to not go to beach just because what they might see will offend them .. its unfair

my life wasn't any different , watch a movie called Freddy vs Jason on HBO long ago ... thanks to the censorship all +18 scenes were deleted, when i bought the DVD uncut version and play it with all my elder brothers sitting behind, the first scene contains a topless women .. and my brother broke the DVD and almost my head , and barred for using PC for next 5-6 months .
