What's new

POF-EYE Corner Shot weapon cleared for production.

Okay that is good and best thing is its highly accurate after seeing the video
That Damn Accurate man. Awesome
And I cant even shoot targets directly in front of me with that accuracy with my Cougar 9mm lolz :omghaha:

How is this a game changer? This is not a heavy weapon, nor an air burst rifle? Nor does it hit the soldiers behind a wall. It has its use, but in a very limited manner.
It's mostly meant for police and special forces use against situations that involve breach and clear operations. It's not meant for conventional military forces, and nor should it be.

It's a game changer for Pakistan's police forces that have very limited equipment to deal with things like hostage situations. This gun puts the officer out of harms way, all the while allowing him/her to deal with criminal elements in a room.

--

Years of trial and error, it looks like the effort may pay off in the end.

You do realise small fiber optic cameras are available as attachments on guns. This makes near as much not even a dent.

You do realize that those guns are not specifically made for such operations, right? The POF EYE, the CornerShot, and other which guns are specifically made for the sort of situation that was presented in the video of the OP.

Attaching a camera on a RC plane doesn't make the RC plane a military surveillance UAV.

Corner shot adds a little improvement, but makes no dent in an operation. Not saying it is useless, but it just isnt what it is made out to be.

Except for the fact that US and Israeli police forces have successfully employed the Corner Shot to their arsenal.

Even if it is a slight improvement, it is still worth it's weight in gold. Pakistani police are often without bulletproof vests, and this is a domestic and cheap solution for a major problem.

Well, many military surveillance projects of the smaller kind started out just as that.
But they didn't end up like that, did they? The Corner Shot was probably just a gun with a small camera attached to it, but now it's a fully built weapon system that can fully handle the situation that it was designed for.

Most of our police is hardly trained for special operations, but i do agree this has some value.

When I meant police, I meant Swat, who're basically police trained in paramilitary operations.

Pakistan's gun culture goes all the way back to the age of Muskets. We have still got some relics.

We have 85 million armed citizens who do love their weapons. The Soviet invasion and subsequent Jihad against them flooded Pakistan with Russian arms which started a trend which still continues.

As @Icarus explained earlier the POF does a lot of R&D, however its primary focus being the production of arms for Pakistani armed forces and LEA, its 'production scope' is quite limited.

Efforts are being made to commercialize POF. Now we can see that the POF has partners like German HK and Turkish SAR arms. I have stated earlier the extent of scope that exists for cooperation between POF and NORINCO in the area of small arms.

As for the QBZ, i do like the frame but its far away from realizing its true potential.

Hi,

In one of the books I read that this business of metallurgy in the frontier province maybe thousand years old----a possibility that those who produced Damascus steel----some members under duress ended up in this area travelling from Syria and kept their tradition of making weapons of death alive.

Bhaiya Pehlay wo 47s ki AK-47s replace hoo gaeyn or advanced weaponary or acessories mil gaeyn(helmets,Vests) to bhi bohat barri baat hai......

Well, that final bit shows that its deadly accurate, hitting plates with a 9mm is a challenge any day of the week since the pistol is likely to move a little with the recoil and the small barrel length as well as slightly different direction sets the bullet slightly off. The Eye looks to be well calibrated and highly accurate, lets see in what capacity the LEAs are prepared to integrate the EYE into our armoury.

Have this gun been utilized in Zarb e Azb or any other op yet?
