Further development of PK-10
POF no doubt made world class quality weapons of high quality but still I think 100,000pkr is higher for a gun produced in pakistan.Further development of PK-10
PK-10 was priced at 100,000 PKR
Yes, it was higher, It was also bulkier than usual. (Previously PK9 was priced at 36K, B6 at 50K and ST9 at 69 k)POF no doubt made world class quality weapons of high quality but still I think 100,000pkr is higher for a gun produced in pakistan.
you are right. lack of imagination maybe one or just sticking with a famous and successful design to attract sale of a famous deign rip off.Exposed barrel and slide, a dead giveaway to a Berreta 92F clone. PoF before this made a Taurus PT92 variant PK09 which too was a beretta 92f clone. Don't get me wrong, it's a brilliant platform.

POF made 9mm handgun , PK-09.
The PK-9 is the first handgun from the POF (Pakistan Ordinance Factories). It is designed as per Beretta family of pistols. Currently only one version of PK-9 is available i.e. Standard version. The PK-9 packed in a good quality plastic box, included in it the gun, two magazines and a technical...defence.pk
Yes but it can be evolved a lot more; if you look at Vektor SP1; lessons were learnt and newer model produced; it can be done for sure.Exposed barrel and slide, a dead giveaway to a Berreta 92F clone. I think PoF is smart, both berreta 92 and cz75's patents have run out. A bunch of companies out there make closes of these two platforms, Pakistan should keep doing the same. Look at the Turkish companies.you are right. lack of imagination maybe one or just sticking with a famous and successful design to attract sale of a famous deign rip off.
on a different note. I recall many years ago you gave a very good guide on though strip down cleaning and oiling of a rifle. including oiling and wrapping and leaving in a trunk during hot summary days to kick all the muck, dirt and grease out of your guns.
I have plan to spend this summer on some mountain trekking and small game hunting with a .22 LR and an air rifle but also take out and clean our Enfield number 5 carbine from the cabinet since I noticed some rust on the muzzle on my last visit to my folks. I might end up giving it to a gunsmith for a thorough job but its always good to know basics so that one doesn't get bombarded with irrelevant terms and stuff by arms dealers.

PK-9 wasn't even manufactured at POF but outsourced to someone in Peshawar....Yes, it was higher, It was also bulkier than usual. (Previously PK9 was priced at 36K, B6 at 50K and ST9 at 69 k)
Those prices justified the product.. But i found out PK10 was overpriced (should be max 65-70)
I have a feeling this POF X is actually a Turkish GirsanExposed barrel and slide, a dead giveaway to a Berreta 92F clone. PoF before this made a Taurus PT92 variant PK09 which too was a beretta 92f clone. Don't get me wrong, it's a brilliant platform.

Hope not, you guys have a very rich gun culture. If POF was making the PK series based Beretta 92's and their other products have been very much on point (that pof Mp5 is highly sought after here); keep developing your own small arms instead of getting into license business. This is my own personal bias, but you guys should adopt the CZ75 platform. As of today, it is the best service pistol platform in the world; having shot almost every major service pistol out there.I have a feeling this POF X is actually a Turkish Girsan
Irfan... just a good brush and gun cleaning oil will work on the No 5... my late friend had No 1; from the Boer war - from his great grand father = he had captured it from a british soldier. Never cleaned it; a good dose of rust. His remedy - load up 1 round in the chamber and let loose straight up. Man, one would see the huge plume of red firey dust come out. then he just did a quick one dose of regular machine oil. then until a few year when he remembered to retest.you are right. lack of imagination maybe one or just sticking with a famous and successful design to attract sale of a famous deign rip off.

I have no problem shooting that rifle.I just want to take good care of it. maybe the damp in the cabnet has caused a little bit of rst on surface. running an oily string with a cloth through the barrel keeps it going just for cosmetic purposes I want it to look good.Irfan... just a good brush and gun cleaning oil will work on the No 5... my late friend had No 1; from the Boer war - from his great grand father = he had captured it from a british soldier. I tell you every time he came to the farm here to do some shooting towards one hill; it was a matter of apprehension. After seeing this ritual for many years, came to conclusion... they did some juju on that enfield.
